SCOTIA ON THE WEEKEND!

Good morning to the CLAN and must say, I am enjoying this 5 day birthday bash.
Have been over indulging with some seriously some good food and excellent beverages, don't want to tell you as you may feel squeamish, but chicken livers, extra hot, oysters, nachos, plus the normal steaks, fish etc, margaritas, jwb, bells, bloody marys, blanc de noir and chardonnays and I am only half way through with the weekend to go.
I also received a few nice gifs, JWB, (a few), Straw rum (wrong spelling) but after you have drank it, its difficult to talk never mind spell. One unusual present (apart from the Rolex, trying to verify authenticity) was a book "Puppetry of the Penis", The ancient Australian art of genital origami, its from the show that was in Joburg, very funny and inside the book is a note, happy birthday Dave signed by the performers in the show, so a big thanks to all the friends for such fabulous gifts.
Meeting the Greek tonight for day 3 and Mrs S away for the weekend, so have delegated the son as driver, just have to remember to get to the track on Sunday.
I see MDK has Lucky Find running at Newmarket today and its being nibbled from 20/1 to 16/1 to beat Bankable 2222, I am sure MDK has a good form line to work with using Eagle Mountain as a benchmark.
Still at Newmarket, some great racing there on Saturday, including the Champion Stakes, where a few negatives about the prep for New Approach, but I still fancy it to win. In addition we have the O'Brien runner Rip Van Winkle to put the opposition to sleep in the Dewhurst.
To the States, where Big Browns retirement has Curlin clear fav at around 5/2 to beat the O'Brien big guns and we hope for a MDK winner on the night with Eagle Mountain, but I would suggest Curlin a good price for the Classic.
In Australia on Sat, its the Caulfield Cup where Weekend Hussler is 11/2 and if it was not beaten recently would have been 5/10, so might be worth a stab to get back on winning ways? Septimus is 6/1 fav for the Melbourne Cup, and O.Brien would appear to have a group one runner everywhere on the planet except S.A.!
I just want to finish with a note on O.Brien as I am not sure the racing public have any indication of the level his horses perform at?
He has had only 99 runners for 20 winners, 6 seconds, 8 thirds and 10 fourths, but his prize winnings with all the group ones is a staggering 3,261,616 GPB, if you compare with the number 2 trainer Richard Hannon, has had 1217 runners for 169 winners and prize money of "only" 2,782,694, the phrase quality over quantity comes to mind.
Good punting!

Has to be UK only stats as O'Brien always has plenty of runners running on local cards in Ireland

Morning Jim, day 4 of celebrations just putting a braai on before the thunder storm, have a nice crowd for Sunday plus snacks, etc, look forward to seeing you again, your pounds are going up by the day, its about 15 quid a month for your training, tell your mates, we need another horse, Oscar working on the ready to run.
