God’s gift to racing
2 years 4 days ago
Racing in SA is in dire straights at the moment with most participants battling to keep heads above water. Stakes are too low to rely on, horses are expensive to keep in racing condition, wages need to be pd. However this doesn't stop the high flying stipes from using stakeholders hard earned money to fly Jhb to Dbn (a 1 hr flight) in Business Class. Don't they feel guilty knowing how hard the rest have to work just to keep going ??? Doubt it !! Working people far below those noses...
The good news is it was noticed by a very high ranking racing person who himself was in Economy!!

These are same hero’s that would not allow me to pay off a ridiculous fine ….I never missed 1 payment .. They put me on the defaulters list which I’m sure Jekyll and Hide where overjoyed by …Cause they have nothing else in life as long as its their way …Applied for colors and was told to wait 6 months…

Does Airlink have a business class section to Durban Mark, or is it simply all Economy and you and this senior person have as usual their knickers in a knot?

Jaypeg19 please dont hide behind a pseudonym.
I have no wish for revenge however it is to continually show how the big boys don't care about the game or people in it as long as they continue to earn the huge salaries and perks .
My wife and I left the game we love not owing a cent apart from my R15k fine which I pd off monthly. That same stipe demanded that I pay the fine to his times and when I refused "their" terms happily put me on the defaulter list with out even the courtesy of a notification.
You don't have a clue what we , as a family have given and still giving
back to racing in all forms so don't throw your little stones from behind your phones.
As a matter please check Airlink and see that there is Business class.

Mark you clearly have no issue with a pseudonym when the poster supports you or your assertion. Feigning moral superiority seems to be a thing with you. Why is that? You clearly have half the facts and have made a story to suit your own narrative. On many occasions on other airlines I have been upgraded to first class despite having purchased an economy ticket because this is what airlines sometimes do when rewarding frequent flyers of any coach-class. If Airlink do actually sell business class tickets to Durban I am fairly certain these are not well supported given the distance and time of travel, and unpaid and unsolicited upgrades are then almost sure to happen.

Re: God’s gift to racing
2 years 1 day ago.....taking it from a once well travelled frequent flyer and have been flying internationally mainly in economy since 1985 at an average of 4-5 international and a dozen or so local trips a year....you seem to be one hell of a lucky passenger....sure I have had the luck of getting the occasional upgrade when things have gone horribly awry....but many more times have had to endure major discomfort on broken seats in economy class while business class is empty....as in more modern times the upgrades are never dished out as freely as they once were...but one has to/ or forced to trade miles/points for these upgrades....it is believable that NHRA chaps still go business class.... as in the past I on more than one occasion seen NHRA bigger wigs in the Business Class lounges at Cape Town around the Met and at OR Tambo during the July.... and I was not in a Business Class seat but my status with our National carrier at that time gave me access to these facilities....:SOn many occasions on other airlines I have been upgraded to first class despite having purchased an economy ticket because this is what airlines sometimes do when rewarding frequent flyers of any coach-class..

You have been presented with no proof that the NHA person paid for a business class seat but you accept it as fact without any evidence. This says much about you Muhtiman.

I wonder if Mark will also berate you and Elvis for using a pseudonym.

I don’t have to as both Elvis and Mutiman have given their names previously.
You seem to have missed the point totally but good luck if they managed an upgrade out of a very full economy class.
As I only have half the facts please tell us the other half Jaypeg19?
I don’t have to “feign moral superiority “ but merely want everyone to know how the big boys abuse their position . And we’ve seen this first hand

Muhti, agreed - I recently made use of the business lounge at O.R.T. ( via my FNB Credit card usage ) on my way to S,America....... we went Economy.... so yes one can make use of the Business lounge, but it does not matter which class u travel.
