Don't bring me down .......😪

Good morning and just a quick update after a fabulous sporting weekend.

I really enjoyed the race meeting from Hollywood Scottsville with decent results for the punters and some special performances from our equine friends.
Lucky lad looks a very good prospect.
Princess Calla was superb in a great time plus Desert Miracle not too shabby.
Mrs Geriatric received a great winners reception from the ladies but Winter Cloud will be back.
Gimme a Prince also won well .
Richard Fourie is a brilliant jockey.
De Melo also top class.
Tarry is the man to follow.
I did make my selections for the HW competition but must have forgotten to click the submit button, so was a late scratching.

Humble was scratched on Friday but El Romiachi ran a good second.

Frankie spoilt the Oaks for me and as normal on his farewell tour he had
SAVETHELASTDANCE for himself.
The coverage for the Derby on 207 was first class and Obrien and Moore did prove that AUGUSTA RODIN Is in fact special.
That Animal Rising protester should be jailed.
The ARC could be interesting SAVETHELASTDANCE, AUGUSTA RODIN and EMILY UPJOHN all possible candidates.

With local racing probably wet condition and the UK options poor our only way of not bringing us down to earth is France where Frankie and Ryan try to beat BIG ROCK in the Derby.

Man City and Celtic won the cups.

So we have some exciting racing to look forward to building up to the July to stop us feeling down on a Sunday back in Pretoria.

Good Punting 👍

Racing Post for full story

Animal rights protesters arrested by police in connection with plans to prevent this year’s Derby from being run have been bailed pending further investigation, including two women who were apprehended by officers “moments before” they were about to run on to the course.

A total of 30 people were arrested by Surrey Police before and during racing at Epsom on Saturday on suspicion of conspiracy to intentionally cause a public nuisance but were later bailed.

Ben Newman, 32, was also arrested and charged with causing public nuisance. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The Animal Rising protester who gained access to the track during Saturday's Derby will remain in custody after being refused bail at Guildford Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Ben Newman, who was swiftly removed from the track on Saturday by police and security, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing public nuisance and requested his case to be heard by the crown court.

The 32-year-old represented himself and will be remanded in custody until July 6, when he is scheduled to appear at Guildford Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
