Did Mauritius Race 1 close after the race was run?

We had full coverage of Hong Kong, and Mauritius race 1, which clashed with the slot, was only shown after HK race.
Straight, the winner, which was 7/1, paid R1.10 for a win, with every other horse in the race showing over double digits for the win. Suspicious, and if so, all bets should be refunded.

R1046 win pool so around R900 must have been on the winner if it paid R1-10.
Probably just some stupid punter who decided to put that money on a horse on the tote with a R1000 pool.
Exacta was a carry over so not sure the race stayed open after the result as surely someone would have taken that exacta.

What happened?

Brandon in studio a few minutes after my post basically called out this exact issue and prices I referenced here, etc. Said he has been on the phone to the tote as well, and is waiting for feedback.

This is basically the feedback Brandon was given as well. 930 win bets - 900 of which was played on the Telebet. Race apparently closed on the tote on time. Bet placed at 10.13am.

Thanks Brandon for bringing awareness to this stuff.

Good man 👍

At this stage of the game the tote can't handle this type of discrepancies.

What a cake of a punter.
Surely he knows how bad the pools for Mauritius are with our tote.
it was 8-1 on the books so he won R90 instead of R7200.

.....and that was the correct deduction before anyone had done an investigation.....that knob [punting on the tote hopefully has learned that there is a place other than the tote that has much better payouts.....

I would like to get full story but yes this punter is not clever.

If it was after the off and in running it should be easy to establish which terminal took the bet.

Either way not good 😪👎

OK just a silly punter having a bet into a pool with no liquidity 😪
Would imagine his euphoria short lived.
