Celestial City sells for R7-Million to Summerhill Equestrian's Henning Pretorius, bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein and consigned by Wilgerbosdrift.

Brother to Hawaam, Golden Ducat and Rainbow Bridge.
Are we going to see him on the race course??

I might be wrong, but 'm sure it was mentioned at the time that it might never race... Something about the owners being big Warmblood breeders

......by comparison the younger sibling ....Hope and Dreams by the son of War Front.....Fire Away must be an absolute bargain at ZAR1.6BAR ....recently sold at the 2022 BSA National Yearling sales....although not as good looking as Celestial City still has plenty of his mommy's genes and imo the infusion of genes from sons of the great War Front should work pretty well too....

No horse in SA is worth more than R100k.

nice win and although he did not beat much.... did it in a very keen and impressive way....looked a little underdone and may come on from this run .....
missed this and most of the earlier racing action today as I had a dental consultation to surgically remove 4 molars and replace them with dental implants...
....on the way to the maxiofacial surgeon I popped into the local fuel skimming service station to get a voucher to have a small interest today....I was told that they no longer are able to sell them as the were robbed....so I asked if the convenience store staff was held up at gunpoint.... they said no....a guy simply walked into the store and asked for a R5K Blue voucher....the cashier printed it and the guy simply snatched it and ran out into a car waiting outside.....they called the manager and he tried calling numbers of the supplier/vendor to have the voucher cancelled but their calls were apparently not answered......only the next day they got an answer but the voucher had already been used....the management under the owners instruction told the vendor to come and fetch the printer/equipment and would not give them any proceeds of sales to date... ..pity, as this spot was the only place I could get an early week-end account deposit for Hong Kong and Singapore racing....:S

I am presuming the owner bought this to breed with?
I would retire this undefeated and take my chances, on yesterdays run and having missed the 3yo season, what has he got to lose?

.......does anyone know what happened to him to debut so late....apart from being genetically sound he appeared to have really enjoyed the outing.....I really like the way he put his ears back and his head forward something I see in horses that are really trying.....even some fillies with decent genes but are not that competitive and really seem to enjoy running and try hard, tend to throw much better offspring when mated correctly......
