Weekend Punting
3 years 4 weeks ago - 3 years 4 weeks ago
Good morning all from a rather cold and miserable Pretoria.
I am going to try on focus on bets that are available over the weekend and put Ukraine, Racing politics, ANC, Eskom etc on the back burner, but if you are feeling suicidal there is a feast on the site.
The ABC memories thread has proven popular and please feel free to add a few racing pics....just go attachments, file, your gallery, click on pics, done, insert and submit.......
Overseas Racing
We have Glorious Goodwood where the classy Lone Eagle looks the banker.
Haydock where Mighty Ulysses can win again.
York where Molly should have a winner for us ?
Musselburgh up North where I just posted a couple of pics on the memory thread.
Lingfield tonight on the flat.
Stratford over the jumps where Arthur’s Seat should keep with the Scottish theme.
The best racing today is from the Curragh in Ireland where NATIVE TRAIL 4/10 looks a blinder for the Buick/Appleby combination and should win Irish 2000gns.
Suggest a double with the Oaks fav EMILY UPJOHN at 15/10.
The Oaks is on the 3rd of June and the Derby on the 4th and I am still a bit undecided between the top two in betting Desert Crown 5/2 and Stone Age 7/2.
On subject of quality racing: Royal Ascot is only a few weeks away: BAAEED 5/10 for Queen Anne (do we have another Frankel)?
Corosbus for St James Palace and Golden Pal for King Stand.
As far as the Gold Cup our hearts will be with Stradivarius it’s weather depending if Trushan will make it a classic and don’t forget Kyprios in the mix.
As far as local racing we have the Cape today where Camille Claudel is the banker.
We have had plenty expert inputs on the daily threads with our own posters supplying some great info, including a 33/1 shot and is always worth a read.
We have had a few important scratching over the last few days and obviously betting changes to match as we head towards the exciting KZN season.
Must also mention the soccer or should I say football, where my team HEARTS play the might Glasgow Rangers and the HEART will rule the brain with a bit 5/1 on the Jambos.
The English premiership comes to a close and its difficult to imagine Man City not winning it but stranger things have happened on the last day of the season.
Next week Liverpool vs Real Madrid should be a classic and the pub is already fully booked.
I will sign off now and keeping with transparency to the punters I have to highlight that Humble Tune runs on Thursday, or should I say he is making a public appearance.
He has been spoken to with regards his previous runs in front of groom representatives and is aware it’s a final warning and possibly a good home or a transfer to Juventus .
Good Punting and may you God be with you 🙏
