Thoughts - let's hope we actually get to see the racing today

R1: Of the raced runners, I think Eye of the Prophet may turn the tables on Without Equal over 1400 - but any of the first timers could be good enough to feature - both the de Kock and Peter runners are finding support, so who knows ?

R2: At the odds, I definitely prefer Littlemarysunshine, especially as she gets 3 kgs from the odds-on shot - drawn a bit wide though, so maybe the steadily improving Treaty from pole position could make them pick up their feet

R3: Trappy little race; Marigold Hotel returns from a break and seems to be better over more ground; Crimson Causeway ran poorly last time, but may not have been suited to blinkers, so could threaten at best, while the disappointing Imbewu is out at the weights with both MH and CC, but gets blinkers which may sharpen her up over this trip; Freedom of Choice beat MH over 1600 at level weights, so with the allowance will probably try and run them off their feet - if it were part of the P6, I'd go the field

R4: Another Grad Plate, where the fillies Homely Girl and Good Queen Bess take on the boys; both come off breaks, so a bit of guesswork required; on ratings HG looks the right one, but I do think that GQB may be better than rated and if fit and well, I think she will take some beating; don't really fancy It's About Time at these weights; Constable has the class and could be a worthy inclusion in the P6

R5: Karangetang looks a bit special and could take a lot of beating getting 1,5 kgs from River Queraress - would be foolish however to not include RQ in the P6

R6: Juvenile feature for the fillies and it looks a lot more open than the colts equivalent; my first choice is Rock the Fox, who gets weight from the winners and has run two good seconds; can't discount the winners though, so all 5 need inclusion imo

R7: Open race complicated by a lot of form reversals recently - many of these have proven inconsistent in the past and I'm sure some of these will be using this race as a prep for the big one at the end of April; exception may be Shangani, but he does face an uphill task at level weights should any of Majestic Mozart, Zillzaal, Second Base and even Imperial Ruby decide to put their best foot forward; Sparkling Water also has consistent form - would prefer more ground but does look better weighted than Shangani - I'm loading up

R8: Some more guess work required, as both Zarina and Chat Ching may be prepping for other targets - at the weights Zarina best in, but probably won't be cut in half to win a Pinnacle Stakes; Bon Vivant is improving and looks the biggest danger; Pretty Betty and Follow Me others who could upset should they return to their best

R9: Does look a two-horse contest imo between Val d'Orcia (tries blinkers) and Visiway who has improved a lot last time when racing without blinkers; weather may affect the outcome of this race; should there be a shower during the afternoon and the track turn up soft, it would favor Val d'Orcia as Visiway seems to prefer good going and anyway seems better over 1000; I don't fancy either Captain Morisco or Danilo Danilovitch, so if both Val d'Orcia and Visiway fail, anything bar probably Willow's Wish (who needs a lot more ground) can win imo

Enjoy B)

Just got around to reading this...Very kind of you Mr. Frodo.

'I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.” “There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for.”

I have a lot of respect for Anton Marcus, great jockey he is but a suggestion to the Kieswetters:

Let Marcus remain at home and let a local JHB jockey ride your horses up North, it has not been a successful combination flying Marcus up every time to ride your horses on the highveld

Frodo....look at your Race 7. Basically tipping every horse. Try tip one, promise you will learn massive. There isnt 5 horses in a race...just one. Try it next time. Pick just one, and you will see... when you pick 6, you lose.
