INQUIRY FINDING – JOCKEY SIMANGA (S’MANGA) KHUMALO
The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 3 January 2022, Jockey S’manga Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3. The particulars being that he failed to ride JET MIRAGE out to the end of Race 8 at Fairview Racecourse on 19 November 2021, to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards and prejudiced his chances of obtaining 4th place.
Jockey Khumalo pleaded not guilty to the charge, but was found guilty of the charge.
The Inquiry Board after considering the evidence and the mitigating factors, imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 10 days.
Jockey Khumalo has the Right of Appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.
