Interestingly in 2001,the mare, Dancal, won the Christmas Handicap and less than a week later won the Flamboyant Stakes at Greyville. Now both races are run on the same day.

Dancal...Irish bred mare?

Yes Irish bred. Trained by Dixon. Was favorite in the Garden Province and odds on. Got scratched after injury in the parade ring. Escolita Fitz ended up winning. Dancal got exported to overseas thereafter.

Amazing! Robert's says thought R1 winner unbeatable and surprised was not favorite.
Well if you dont inform the public how can anyone know your thought Michael?
Surely presenters or employees are told this to report to the public. So simple to do!

And now the shortest horse of the day at 7-10 manages to miss the break and run out the money.
Overall the only people that benefit from KZN racing is the bookies,no wonder so many clanners refuse to play this centre.

On ratings, Merit rated 74, the next closest runner is 60. Plus 2.5kgs allowance. So it was 19 points, 9.5kgs better off less WFA around 4kgs. 5.5kgs better off than any raced runner. Presenters, analysts should have done the maths and inform Joe public.

But in the next race, ratings was thrown into the bush. Favorite rated 80, won by a runner rated 60....

That's why it's called gambling. It's not an exact science but we are suckers for punishment. It is what it is.

You dont see this often.

Ventriloquist is out of Valdovino.
Sexy Shiraz is out of Vino Veritas.
Vino Veritas dam is Valdovino.
So the mother and daughter has a runner here.

Both runners are nice prices with Siege of Orleans with the apprentice allowance a big runner.
