Not sure that the re-shoeing caused that dismal run by Fashionigma but I think it's about time all our farriers go back to school and get taught how to put a horses shoe on so that it doesn't come off even before the horse runs in a race.
No where in the world does it happen as often as here and we can't always blame the surface.
This has been on going for years and years now and no improvement is seen.
Maybe we importing the lowest quality shoes and nails from China.

Nice Dean.
These women can ride,we need more of them here.
The other day in Australia stekkies won 7 out of the 8 races.

I don't think they use nails...more likely Chinese equavalent of Prestik...

But it makes sense...as an example...we had 5 water leaks (polycop piping) in 2 years so I asked the a few plumbers to quote to install copper piping...didn't want to...came up with all sorts of excuses...eventually got someone to get it done...no more leaks...there goes the plumbers' bread and butter as each leak costs R800-1500 to repair...

But surely they can see we have a problem with shoes in this country and still it carries on.
We have had trainers come on here and say it's the type of grass or the polytrack, but then do something about it and try find a shoe or something that is good on out tracks.
Not long ago at Greyville we had two shoes come off in the first race.
That's double what I have seem in HK the whole year.
