Fancy the treble :-

R2) Surjay X (R4) Spirit Of Silvano X (R6) Silvano's Dasher
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I think De Melo should have a good day at the office, three i looked at :-

R4, Spirit Of Silvano (8/10), had to switch out for a run 350 out, and then was inconvenienced by the favourite, Navy Strength, would have finished much closer. Should relish going further.

R6, Silvano's Dasher (15/10), won a smart race first time out, especially going round the Durbanville turn. Didn't look comfortable rounding the turn, but once in the straight, put up a resolute effort all the way to the line. Should be more comfortable up the straight.

R8, Greengrowthelilacs (7/1), at the weights, wherever Silver Darling runs, Greengrowthelilacs should finish close, if not ahead. There is a 4.5kg swing for a 4.5 length beating. There were valid excuses, second run after the rest, drawn 12/12, and came from some way back. Peak run today, this horse is very much alive despite the betting. Should go close, if not, certainly finish in the first three.

Here's my play :-

Spirit Of Silvano (8/10) (W) X Silvano's Dasher (15/10) (W) X Greengrowthelilacs (W-7/1/Pl first 3 @ 1/1).
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Overcast, light headwind, course will run fast.
Race 1 Miss Greenlight has the draw to beat but still looks the right one. The older fillies Adira and Galiek Yo Baby could be the main dangers from good draws. Include Wildest Dreams, Dawnofanewday and Falo Ancora in quartets.
Race 2 Surjay looks the value bet here, but must respect Canada Square, Steinbeck and The Futurist
Race 3 Field of Vision is selected to beat Cruizin California, with Bite My Lip a danger. High Dudgeon and Ntinga have scope for improvement. An interesting runner at 50/1 is Phedra. If she settles and sees out this trip, could cause a huge upset.
Race 4 Spirit of Silvano looks the right one, but de Melo has a poor strike rate on short priced favourites. Isle of the Winds and Look Homeward could pop up, and Over Two You and Augusta Green must also be included if the favourite fails.
Race 5 Very competitive handicap- Wordsworth may turn the tables on Intrepid at the weights. Captain Mike cruised in last time, and although he got a stiff penalty, there may be more improvement to come. Persistance and Fighter are always threats in this class.
race 6 Another tricky race. Silvano's Dasher impressive debut and although he's looking for further could win again. Banker him or go wide.
race 7 A small field but difficult to rule out anything. Silver Salmon did not act in the wet, and worth another chance here but runs off a high rating.
Race 8 Despite the jockey bookings on the 3 Snaith runners, I'm in the camp of Versailles to beat her stablemates and She's a Rainbow.
