Mauritius Turf Club (MTCSL) won their injunction against MBC --- Deja Vu
2 years 5 months ago
Mauritius Turf Club Sports and Leisure (MTCSL) won their injunction against MBC this Friday, October 22 Court has decided: National television cannot retransmit images of MTCSL horse racing. So at this point you won't be able to track the MBC Champ-de-Mars races tomorrow.
The organizing company had taken an action in court so that MBC would not use its footage on television to broadcast the races on Saturday. Earlier there was a contract between MTC and MBC. But since the club has become a company, the old contract is dead. The MTCSL has asked MBC to pay for this rebroadcast, but the National Broadcasting Station said it did not make it available in its budget for this season.
The judge proved MTCSL right and ordered MBC to stop using the images unless it pays and both reach an agreement. So there will be no races on tv tomorrow due to this judgement.
At the MTCSL level, it is said that if the MBC, between tonight and tomorrow morning, pledges to pay, it will allow it to take the pictures.
In addition, the court has ruled that MTCSL has the right to claim damage for images that MBC has used in recent weeks.

I could never figure out how the club had to pay the Broadcasting company to air racing!!

What concerns me is that the “club has become a company”. That is their first nail into their racing coffin. No-one learns.

Ever thought of making a comeback Mark?
They need some actual jockeys there now not work riders.

This place has become the backside of horse racing all because of the pure incompetence of the jockeys.
Three legs gone in the pick 6 and 1 ticket left.
