Look like a number of tricky races with quite a few with chances but here's what I ended up with...
1. Respect, but not convinced, certainly at the prices, about the two market leaders and prefer to forgive the last run on turf and go e/w with Sovereign Supreme, hoping for a good break and that he might lead from start to finish. For exotics I'll be adding Emerald Flame and Siever's Point.
2. Kingston Rock looks the right one to me, though the price has little value now so my main bet will be taking a chance on Rock The Kazvar e/w, blinkers are back on after a poor run returning from a rest, also excuses in penultimate and the form of his maiden win three back at the Vaal not the worst, also has a good draw here. Iron Henry and Elegant General to maybe fill the minor places.
3. Didn't study, will just do the fav in any exotics.
4. Karen Blixen quite possibly, but not for me at the price and without her, I think Abia must have a big chance on recent form. Autumn Sky, La Duchess, and Dancing Girl to be following her.
5. Imperious Duke for me, Corsage may be a value exacta and a couple of rand on King's Fort who had excuses in his post maiden run lto and is perhaps worth giving another chance from box 1 at a big price.
6. Think this could be tight between Valetorio and Inherit The Rain, at the prices I'll be on the former. Herodotus could find this too sharp but may still fill the third spot.
7. Didn't study, will do the fav etc
8. Perhaps the trickiest of the lot. I'm going to chance The Sands e/w and then have Timkat, Better Days, Reach For The Line. Will also put a rand on Supa Mufti. Would it surprise me if none of those five are in the first five, only a bit!
Mac, I can't change the avatar, horrible pic to be stuck with!
Be(s)t of luck to all

3 years 10 months agowhen you have a horse that short rather fly down a 4kg claimer then you know it will win - i'm amazed - I actually thought at one point he was going to run out the bipot - if Fourie rides I think it winsOnly Greg Cheyne can lose on a 1-4 favourite. Sis

Like many things in South Africa, always expect some sort of wrinkling of results, it is just the way we wired.

Unlike the UK where 80/1 wins fairly regularly.
Our results though not that extreme, are more targeted at perms and seem very intentional.
