Dear Owners / Private Box Holders
Despite the implementation of the recently announced Level 3 restrictions by the President, Gauteng has seen an alarming spike in the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths in comparison to other provinces. In an endeavor to arrest the spread of infections and prevent further deaths, both Phumelela and the Racing Association, in consultation with the NHRA have decided not to permit owners, box holders and their guests to attend race meetings on the Highveld with effect from the Vaal race meeting on Thursday, 24 June 2021 until further notice.
Further, essential racing persons such as officials, staff, trainers, jockeys, grooms and service providers are reminded to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols in terms of wearing masks, screening and social distancing. It is only through a concerted effort that we can contain the spread of the virus and continue racing.
Your cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated.
