Race (1)
Fifty Fiver went close from a wide draw last time at Durbanville. Peak run and should be the one they all have to beat.
Race (2)
Watch the betting especially on Sweet Repeat with a claiming apprentice.
Race (3)
Slight preference for Son Of Silk purely based on the better draw. Veni Vidi Vicci must be respected even from a wide draw.
Race (4)
Zambaq taking on open company, must be respected from the draw. Of the older horses Galiek Yo Baby looks the obvious choice based on the draw, but has had several attempts to win a maiden race. Razzle Dazzle Em relatively unexposed but drawn wide, may have excuses with the going last time, but is very much alive here.
Race (5)
At the weights, Savannah Buddy should win this with the weight turn-around with a few based on their last run to One Way Traffic. Worth a punt.
Race (6)
Serious Fun, filly taking on the colts, but must have a shout at the weights if seeing out the distance. Double with Race 5.
Race (7)
Elusive Fortune looks slung in here with the claiming apprentice, treble with races 5 and 6 worth a go.
Race (
Can lightning strike fours times, Snaith, the apprentice and Love Note?

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

It's a beautiful day in CT with very little wind. The course is reported still soft from the earlier rain, but drying out steadily.
With the postponement of the Scottsville meeting, hopefully will see decent pools on the tote.
With most of the senior jockeys originally scheduled to ride at Scottsville, some nice opportunities for the likes of Robert Khathi who appears to have first pick of the Snaith rides. Young Gabriel Pieterse is worth his 4kg claim, and should get amongst the winners as well. Snaith is running quite a few 2yos in open company and all look promising.
Race 1 Shesh Besh and Fifty Fiver look the best of the raced runners, but a few first timers, notably a half brother to Pretty Young Thing and others that could improve. Angry Warrior apparently is quite speedy, and Captain Mike should improve further.
race 2 Call It Fate looks the one to beat. Louis' Diamond and Oh So Squishy also decent form. Sweet Repeat is a full brother to Do It Again. Costa Smeralda half sister to Marinaresco put up a fair debut and should be respected. Other well related babies are Isle of the Winds, half sister to Belgarion and Family Footsteps, half sister to Athina. Versailles was green on debut and should improve here.
Race 3 Veni Vidi Vicci returns from a 6 month break, but if fit should win on his good earlier form. All of Son of Silk, Legitimise and Freedom Park can win if he fails, and the 2 yo One Day or Day One is not badly in with the 4kg claim if he can overcome the draw.
Race 4 Razzle Dazzle Em has been very costly to follow but looks the right one here. Galiek Yo Baby has been knocking on the door and the good draw will help her. Zambaq is a decent 2yo and if handling the step up in trip can win.
Race 5 Very Open, I'm going the field.
race 6 Exceeder was a bit unlucky last time and should relish the trip. I make him the one to beat. Universe Boss ran a bit below best last time, but should like the extra ground, and is a big runner. Serious Fun gets the filly allowance and the 4kg claim, and if seeing out the trip is very well in at the weights. Cape Point, Chasing Mavericks and Global Approach all have scope for improvement.
Race 7 A competitive race where the 4kg claim will help Elusive Fortune. Our filly, Fynbos is in good form and I fancy her to win again. Plenty others with chances.
Race 8 Our filly Helen's Blush is still improving and I think that she has a good chance of winning today. Again a very competitive field and plenty with chances. I think our main dangers are Twicethequality, Halloween, and Love Note. Grey Princess has a hard task from the wide draw but can sneak a place with some luck in the running.

I think the usual out-of-season Cape fair with mostly small but competitive fields - leaving not much room to maneuver; all the best to PeterD - I'll just do a BP and PA and try to enjoy the racing

I was watching the replays this morning and again I noticed what an extremely weak jockey Greg Cheyne is!

What you reckon with that ride on Don't Look Back?
The biggest outsider in the field, and the second favorite got pulled out the race, managed to get the better of him in the finish for 2nd place.
