Churchill Downs Incorporated (“CDI”) announced Wednesday the suspension of Bob Baffert for two years effective immediately through the conclusion of the 2023 Spring Meet at Churchill Downs Racetrack. The suspension prohibits Baffert, or any trainer directly or indirectly employed by Bob Baffert Racing Stables, from entering horses in races or applying for stall occupancy at all CDI-owned racetracks.

Suspended only from CDI owned tracks. So he can still enter horses to race at other owned tracks. Does the US have a federal jockey club?

Two ex horses of Bob Baffert ran first and second in the Santa Anita Derby after it was transferred to a new trainer, Yakteen just last week.

Taiba won with Mike Smith and Messier ran second.

What is astonishing is that Taiba won on its debut in March 2022 and this was its second run. It will now go to the Kentucky Derby with just two runs with two wins.
