Thursday 17 June 2021

Trainer Paul Matchett has withdrawn Triple Tiara and Gr1 Woolavington 2000 champion War Of Athena from next month’s Gr1 Vodacom Durban July.

Instead she will take on her own sex in the Gr1 Jonnson Workwear Garden Province Stakes on the same afternoon where she has drawn gate one.

She is likely to be up against dual Fillies Guineas winner Captain’s Ransom who has pulled a wide draw. She will be ridden by Muzi Yeni.

i personally think if WOA is well enough to run on July day she should have run in the July. Not much to prove winning another grade. 1 she has a few of those. In July he carries light weight now she has level weights again two or three top fillies. Who have not had mega campaign like WOA.

Will she be in the same postion next year to have aa crack at winning the July.

After Summer Pudding came out of the July i dont have a fancy gonna wait for jocks and the draws.

Right now its a 7 horse race for me

RB , DO it again , Belgarion, Green Light , Line Backers , Rascallion and Kom die thing.

Hopefully, She’s a Keeper can run in the 1st four. Backed her on places when still 66-1.

Warren Kennedy booked on She's A Keeper. Doubt a senior jockey like Warren will get scratched from the July.

Looks a lively contender now and alot of changes to my bets structured.

After the win in the 1900 she was always likely to run - and imo Warren always penciled in for the ride ?

But please if the She's a Keeper fans can explain to me - not even taking into account that she is by far the worst weighted runner in the race, on the 1900 run, how can she be expected to finish in front of Crown Towers and Matterhorn - assuming they both make the field ?

Have to cut the connections of WOA some slack IMO. Drawing 1 in the GP, it seems a no brainer to go for it, versus taking on the likes of Linebacker, Racallion, Kommet receiving 1 kg and only 3 kgs from GTGL.

Wonder if they would have given the July a bit more thought if she drew 16 and if Captains Ransom drew 1 in the GP.

All punters know the risks of Antepost.
