You will no doubt hear from Davetheflower should your prediction be wrong. Come to think of it, where is the guy, maybe i should ask his good friend, CNC:)

Interesting card with some races looking straight forward and some competitive handicaps; seems the Tarry stable is going all out to try and find their first local winner in more than 2 weeks with 13 runners . Their runners have been running close up though (i.e. Bowie on the week) - thoughts:

R1: Happy that I had a bet on Quest from Afar at double the odds currently offered - I do think she is the right one from Marigold Hotel

R2: Iron Will all the rage and looks the right one from Rain in Holland; roughie for the places could be Transition Vamp, who gets Lerena from a good draw

R3: Looks another favorable exacta between I Dream of Genie and Voltron; Smelting probably next best, with Chutzpah finding some market support and has pole position

R4: Cartel Boss went to Greyville for his debut - and in general I have some doubts if a horse can't win a Maiden in KZN, but this is a real weak field bar the 2 first timers; Trust the Fire (ignore last run when his saddle slipped) could be the surprise package

R5: Another Maiden Plate, where there could be a surprise; Global Player drawn a bit wide, so beatable imo; Curfew just beat Stay the Course in October last year, so both have credentials, while Believeinthefuture was very disappointing with blinkers, but can also feature again in this field

R6: Puerto Manzano has been improving, and although going up in the ratings, should go close again; not sure if he can give Lily Blue 7 kgs, so LB must have some sort of chance; just hearing that Neil Andrews holds a candle for Johnny Hero, and I think he is correct - level weights with PM, so could also feature

R7: Very tough handicap; some are drawn wide and others may seem better over slightly shorter; for me I'm going wide; big value imo is Querari Ferraris; Rio's Winter goes very well for Lerena, but may just be stretched over 1600 off top weight - so this is open

R8: Yet another Maiden for the females; lots of support for Woman of Substance, but for me, although she had some problems at the start in her last run, she still needs to make up quite a few lengths on Zulu War Cry, so both should feature, with Cast the Dice and La Sicaria improving as well, while Oceans Pride looks big value at current odds; Two Fools Collide needs to improve, but may do so over 1600

R9: I do get the impression like Say When now needs more ground, so no value at odds-on; Indlamu must be the biggest danger, but there is not a lot on form between him and Back to Black, who is best at this course; then Midnight Caller is not out of it on his run behind Back to Black

Enjoy B)
