58 horses go to post tomorrow in what can only be called dull dreary past sell by date racing here in the western cape.
Not just the field size in poor but the stakes they race for suck.

only horse interested in watching is Divergent in the last. much improved run last time.

Some to consider...

R2 3 - Our World
R3 1 - Elusive Trader
R4 1 - Bernie, 4 - Matthew The King
R5 2 - On Captain's Side
R6 1 - Majestic Mozart
R7 4 - Secret Depths
R8 1 - Brandy 'n Coke

All the best to all Clanners (yes @horse 'n hound, including you !! :)) for today...stay safe and healthy...good racing but all the "certs" cannot win as the bookies will be paying out on many mutiples and that's rare...jockeys will find a way to make one of two of the shorter priced horses run slower... :( ...enjoy...

Warm sunny day, very little wind expected. course will be fast.
Race 1 Barzalona should win this unless the first timer is smart. African Rain next best.
race 2 Quite a strong maiden. the one to beat is Razzle Dazzle Em which ran an excellent debut and should enjoy the extra and this course. Whatsinadream solid form and should challenge. Our World is well exposed but is capable. Orange Bowl should prefer this trip.
Our filly Pretty Betty was given a very poor ride by the WR in her last, and that run can be ignored. She will enjoy this trip and I think that she has a good ew chance, and is great value at 10/1.
Race 3 The fillies are well treated in this and Phil's Dancer is selected to beat Favorita. Mr Cobbs and Skidoo look the best of the boys at the weights.
race 4 An open race. Captain Dizzy goes for a hatrick and is still improving. Bernie is consistent, but may prefer 1200m. Fighter is a distance specialist and could pop up.
Race 5 Competitive, small field. Marmalisa the one to beat if repeating her last. On Captain's Side will challenge if she behaves in the stalls. Veronica Mars and Aye Aye won't be far off.
race 6 Icon Princess ran a cracker last time and can win if she repeats.. Majestic Mozart and Sovereign secret the main dangers
Race 7 Our mare, Secret Depths was disappointing last time, but is usually very consistent. Marina is a classy 3 yo, but may prefer slightly further.. Elusive Fortune very consistent and must be respected despite top weight. Dad's Catch showed none of her earlier form at her comeback run, but is a lurker if she finds her form. The obvious pacemaker has been scratched, so could be a false run race.
race 8 An open maiden, and quite a few with chances. Brandyncoke the one to beat on best form, but all of 2,3,4,5 could win.

What percentage takeout is the Tote taking from the Bipot, PA and P6 on local racing? You get a result like that in the first leg, where the 12/10 favourite and everyone's banker for a win, let alone first two, misses the place, along with the second favourite running out, and the Bipot is only paying R3.50? Wow. Didn't realize the tote was screwing punters that badly.
