Turffontein stage the 1st legs of the World Sports Betting Triple Crown and the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara on Saturday. It`s a ten race card on the Standside track with a 12:30pm start time.

TRACK INFORMATION

Race Track: Turf. 2700m oval track. Races up to 1160m straight course; beyond 1160m clockwise round turn with 800m run-in. Track rises 12m from 1600m to 800m marks, making it most testing circuit in SA.

Best Draws: Low-number draws favoured over 1400m and to a lesser extent 1600m.

Pen - 25
Going - Good to soft
False Rail - Zero on back straight to 5m on the bend with a 5m spur at the 700m mark.

Today’s Turffontein race meeting, featuring the first legs of the World Sports Betting SA Triple Crown and the Wilgerbosdrift SA Triple Tiara, has been postponed to next Saturday 13 February because the track is unsafe for racing.
The going was good to soft yesterday evening after 70mm of rain through the week. But there was a further 6.5mm of rain from 04:20 until 07:00 today, when horses were galloped on the track to assess the going.
It was then unanimously agreed that the going was unsafe and with more rain forecast through the day it was decided to postpone the entire race meeting lock, stock and barrel for a week.
All TAB bets on the meeting will be refunded and betting will be reopened on Friday 12 February. Race times will be adjusted where necessary.

The movement of last Saturday’s Turffontein race meeting, which feature the first legs of the World Sports Betting SA Triple Crown and the Wilgerbosdrift SA Triple Tiara, to this coming Saturday, 13 February, has necessitated a change to the times of the races.

The new times are as follows:

Race 3: 13:30

Race 4: 14:10

Race 5: 14:45

Race 6: 15:20

Race 7: 15:55

Race 8: 16:30

Race 9: 17:05

Race 10: 17:40



The on-line Computaform and Racecard will be updated to reflect the new information.
