Thuggery Alive & Well At The Big T
4 years 5 months ago - 4 years 5 months ago
I see Jockey Khumalo was back to his old ways when winning on Phoenix. If you view the head on you will note that he struck the horse at least 14 times in the closing stages including one double strike in a single stride.
I hope the stipes aren't sleeping.
Really nice experience for a young horse.
For a moment I thought Bernard F had sneaked back into town from Mauritius.

Rode the horse for his life. Arms in the air afterwards, they must have cleaned up.

The horse started at +20/1 odds, that is anything but cleaning up.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I think so .
Callan hand the stick in his left hand and the horse was keeping straight but not responding so maybe trying to get the horse to change legs or give more effort he changed the whip to the right hand and definitely impeded the third horse which was finishing faster and I think would have beaten In Limbo if not for the interference.

First timers don't count in the P6?

Jackpots, there are ways of getting on,when you slice a horse in half on its first run then there must be a reason

.....and then follows up with 13 strikes on Glider Pilot in the very next race.
At least I answered my own question - The stipes must definitely be asleep!
By my understanding he should have got a R 1,500 fine for Phoenix and (possibly) R2,500 for Glider Pilot. In a properly regulated industry he would get a 1 month holiday as successive violations of a rule is a clear indication that he does not intend to comply. Or alternatively that the sanctions are inadequate.
Don't worry about my opinion. I'm used to the abuse and rule bending. It's the market you WANT to attract that everybody should be concerned about. No right thinking person who loves and enjoys their horses would want to entrust their pride and joy to an individual who treats it like a company car.

Mississippi Burning, now that is thievery, you cannot tell the punters 5 minutes before the jump the horse had massive issues on a training front, i feel raped.

The first timers do count if you have them in your P6. 9 and 11 qualified.
