Durbanville Race 2 incorrect result
4 years 8 months ago
TAB MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Durbanville Race 2 incorrect result
DATE: Tuesday 6 October 2020
RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming
Due to a miscommunication, TAB declared the incorrect official result for Race 2 at today’s Durbanville race meeting.
The correct result of 13-9-1-11 was posted initially, but this was subsequently changed to 13-2-1-7 and declared official. The error was quickly identified and corrected to the original 13-9-1-11.
The error was caused by an employee updating results from last Saturday’s Durbanville meeting on the national internal communications network. This led to the result from Race 2 at Durbanville last Saturday being mistaken for the corrected result of Race 2 at Durbanville today.
TAB apologises for the error. Any customer who discarded a winning ticket must lodge a claim at any TAB.

4 years 8 months ago - 4 years 8 months agoFor me there is no greater insult to the paying punter than posting an incorrect result - Perhaps the NHRA should make the head stipe on duty responsible for giving the green light on local results - or a simple program where the head stipe, Judge and tote representative all enter their perceived results so if position 1 does not equal position 1 from any of the other entries a flag goes up and the result cannot be posted - There is so so so so much time between local races that you wonder how on earth such errors can occur -Sylvester wrote: glad to report that NHRA did everything correct. they are once again free and clear of any problems in SA Horse racing.

Mr Hawaii. I am very sure that a system such as the one you have proposed currently exists, wherein someone needs to input proposed results, and someone needs to approve before releasing the all clear. The problem comes in where the people in the positions of responsibility to approve don't do their checks, and approve without actually verifying against the race that was run, or checking with the judge etc. It says so much when you consider that a Punter can tell you the result posted is incorrect, but the officials with all their checks and processes in place STILL end up approving the wrong results. An absolute shambles, and really seems they're more worried about playing solitaire or running their side businesses than doing the basics right.

There are around 2700 races run each year in sunny South Africa.... incorrect results get posted maybe once in 2 to 3 years.... be fair guys.

....I believe its only the 2nd one they have botched in a year or so.....and they went cold on Zim for more recently doing exactly the same thing...pots & kettles....there should be no room for any errors what so ever.....
