R7, Ikigai, last three runs were all against Grade 1 company, albeit one a sprint race, but was far from disgraced. Form prior to this was really good, dropping in class tomorrow, must be a massive runner at good odds.

Day 177
In a rush this morning moving back to Kloof.
HUMBLE TUNE runs today so π€
His work has been good and we were looking for a 1200MT at Vaal or 1450MT at Turffontien and Candice found a good race and not a strong field.
There will always be concerns about a first timer, green, distance etc.
I am happy that he should run a big race and we also have a top jock, so everything points to happiness π

CK Horse Racing
Pre-Race Report:
Turffontein (Inside)
Saturday (19/09/2020)
Race 2 - 12h40 - 1450m
#9 Humble Tune
Drawn: 8
Jockey: Gav Lerena
Humble Tuneβs work has been solid and encouraging leading up to this race. Gav has been working him at home and is quietly confident that he will be competitive in his first start. He does run the standard first timer risks, and we will mainly be going out to have a good 1st time at big school and learn the difference between work and races. ππ»ππ»πβπ»π€π»

I have been decidedly off-form the last few weeks - let's try to get back in the groove -
R1: The Kop is steadily improving and has been around this turn twice - should prefer this trip and further, so first choice for me; obvious danger is Master Uletide and the comment on the supported first timer is 'probably too short' - make of that what you will
R2: All the best Dave - for me this is a weak field, so if cornering ok Humble Tune should be thereabouts; first choice for me though is Burning Ice - drawn wide last time, so for me has the come-on look; of the raced runners the biggest danger is Master Mariner, who looks to hold BI on collateral form to Foreign Field and should be better over this shorter trip
R3: Some unexposed maiden fillies makes this more tricky than it appears at first glance; first choice for me Twice the Act - drawn wide but in her penultimate start ran just under 2 lengths behind Sentbydestiny - if she repeats that run she should prove hard to beat; Fort Snow also should improve over this longer trip, and the same goes for Aberdare; for me So They Say has faced slightly weaker, but can also improve
R4: Not an easy start to the P6; Cappella Magna should be better over this trip, but could find himself too far back on this track; Fort Love not sure to stay, while Euphoriant comes out of moderate form lines; Tuscan Light also not sure to stay, and the same goes for Corsage; I'm including all those
R5: Interesting Pinnacle Stakes where ratings suggest a 4-cornered contest between Hero's Honour, Dawn Assault, Dromedaris and Top Shot; but exposed form shows that The Bosbok is not out of it; for me Dawn Assault has a lot going for him - 2 wins this track and trip, in-form stable and jock, so first choice from Dromedaris; not sure that Barak is in this class yet
R6: Category Four in hot form and looks sure to be right there again; biggest danger for me is Jagesa Jagesa; others with chances include Master and Man (seems better further), Chevron (needs to repeat last run), Hidden Agenda and Kurt's Approval
R7: Interesting Pinnacle Stakes which I think is being used as a prep by Ikigai - obvious class horse, but not that well in here at the weights as one would have thought; I'm definitely including Fired Up - improving as a 5 yr old and very effective this track and trip; Saragon big danger on ratings (ran to higher than her official rating behind Ronnie's Candy), but may prefer slightly further; Zouaves needs to put that last run behind him and may now be past his best; Rebel's Champ needs to prove he stays beyond 1200m and for me I think Youcanthurrylove will find this on the short side - but could feature running fresh
R8: Tough little Fillies & Mares handicap where many seem closely matched; Destiny's Game looks the value if ignoring her last start, but not the worst idea imo to include the Field in P6 and JP
R9: Many seem to have something against then here; Readysetglo will find it tougher than last time from a wide draw, Mazari could still find this a bit short, Fly North has never run well at this track,; so by default it does seem like Curvation should be able to repeat her last win; I do think however that Sacred Lotus on her penultimate will give plenty of cheek
Enjoy
