Press Release- Muzi has Got The Greenlight
4 years 11 months agoSoma Racing: PRESS RELEASE
Subject: Muzi has Got The Greenlight
Date: 10th July 2020
It has come to our attention that due to unforeseen circumstances on jockey, Lyle Hewitson’s side, he will not be able to honour his riding engagement aboard our horse in this year’s VDJ.
Lyle was originally secured to ride our Champion in the Vodacom Durban July when still riding in Japan in April 2020.
All is not lost though as we have old friend- Muzi Yeni on board piloting “Got The Greenlight”. Muzi and our stable have had great success, including Grade 1’s through the years.
We hope that this doesn’t have major ramifications on the betting, but we felt that it was best to let the punters know the situation.

Betting stays the same.
I personally prefer Lyle but not sure the NHRA consider this move as totally legal?
Getting jocked off does happen in the UK
Frankie and the Derby fav.
This appears different circumstances.
Lets see if anything happens?
Maybe a statement from Vee?

I'm not convinced - I know there are those who think so, but only the race will show - all I will say is that on the DN, I think Golden Ducat is the value among the 3 yr olds - he was running on nicely and 25/1 I think good value

There shouldn't be much between GTGL, Shango and GD over the 2200m.. Wonder how much of the jockey switch has to do with loyalty to the Tarry yard and how much has to do with Lyles personal preference.. he surely would have been working both horses
