Celtic Sea is out to defend her title in the South African Fillies Sprint (Grade 1) Brought to you by The Witness at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Saturday, July 4. One of the most versatile fillies in training, effective from 1200m to a mile, she is the second highest rated filly in the country. Sean Tarry’s filly made a smashing return from a break when cantering home at Turffontein recently. She loves this course and distance and is the one to beat.

However, in Run Fox Run she meets the Western Cape star who has only once tasted defeat in seven outings, that when taking on males in the Cape Flying Championship (Grade 1). Brett Crawford’s filly got off the mark with a comfortable win early last month before moving to KZN so will strip fit and well with Anton Marcus in the irons. She looks the biggest threat to Celtic Sea.
Of the balance, Pretty Young Thing gave notice of her ability with a comfortable win in the Grade 3 Poinsettia Stakes over course and distance. Marcus was aboard that day and he has opted for Run Fox Run on Saturday.

Celtic Sea and Run Fox Run are rated way better than the balance of the opposition and racing fans could be in for what could turn into a match race.
