"Group" RESULTS - 'Sunday Session' 17 August Workings.

Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 3.5, and with being around 3.55 on arrival and then a non runner and 12.8% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 3.18 (3.2 nearest exchange price). The price then dropped down to us and slightly beyond, so we had a lay at 3.2 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result....
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 1.91 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 1.91 max. The lay looked in trouble, but dug deep to win a battle, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.8, but a non runner and 6.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.68. The price was around 3.85 on arrival and just got bigger and bigger, so with not seeing our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.........
The 4th runner we wanted 1.46, and with being around 1.57 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a good leave.......
The 5th runner we wanted 3.2, and with being around 3.55 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
The 6th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 7.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.22. There was then another withdrawal and further 5.3% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.16. The price was around 2.4 on arrival and then dropped down to us and beyond, so we had a lay at 2.16 max. The lay looked in a bit of trouble, but pulled it out to get the win and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......
The 7th and final runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 2.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.25. The price was around 3.65 on arrival and wouldn't drop down to us, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED..................(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won - 3 from the first 6 (50%) went and won, and so yet another tough session for us, especially with the drifters, but we did a good job to get through it as best we could)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) conceded 0.5 of a target........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, but after a battle against winners and drifters, they ended up conceding 0.5 of a target after their 3rd lay (the 6th runner)..
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 3.2 max and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.91 max, but a poor result see them give it back..........They then had their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.16, but a poor result see them go behind..........That's where they ended it, so they concede between 0.5 and 1.3 targets on the session..
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.2 max. Result positive. Win £45

Total bank now £395
3rd lay £200 to win the £105 needed @ 2.16 max. Result negative. Lose £122
Total bank now £273
That's where they ended it.
Overall result. Concede 1.3 targets at worst.

'Traders' either won, or broke level on all their trades and so they played it well..
So a battle (yet again) for us, but we all dug deep against winners and drifters and limited the damage. Well played/battled and speak in the morning..
Marc.

That's our work for this afternoon then. Pontefract has been abandoned, so a bit frustrating there, but we have enough about us still to go into battle, so that's what we'll do. Anyhow, discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon.
