I got hooked and addicted by Illustrador, Roland Song, Senor Santa, Aqaunaut... those were the days locally... wow!
International interest begun around Oath winning the Derby and then Montjieu, that’s when I was over there working and saw these horses live and in flesh. Dubai Millennium winning at Doncaster was my first live race I watched as I walked on to my first racecourse in the UK...and then I was lucky enough to see him win at Ascot again and was lucky enough to work with the Dewhurst winner a year later, Distant Music. Great memories..
Locally it’s not the same but I still get a thrill for the UK racing. They just seem to keep tradition, which is what keeps interest.

Not the best horse to ever race in SA, but TEAL got me hooked.. I remember my dad fetching me and my brother in Primary School to go watch TEAL run at Newmarket..

Elvis an expert on that match race
Brainteaser was beaten 5 L by DIVINE ACT .
Owners Hans Eerenstien and Roy Groendyke
Was trained by Cliffy Otto
A day we will never forget, Divine Act won its maiden by 16 lenghts
Sure it was Nothern Princess that beat santa

......and named as such because of his size.....as his mother was a squib in fact a twin bought and imported by unsuspecting top breeders ....who sold her off with Teal in the belly....
