RACE 1 :

• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 6, 9 and 11 – KLAPMUTS FERRARI, NONKI’S BOY & STRANGER DANGER : Klapmuts Ferrari and Nonki’s Boy are expected to be green, perhaps a place chance. Stranger Danger is a nice type and he should be thereabouts.
• GRANT PADDOCK – Number 10 – SHAKSHUKA : He is speedy and could place.
TARA LAING – Number 12 – WUHAN : He needed his debut run as far as experience is concerned and could need this one too.
ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 3 and 4 – CALOGERO & DEMONTE : Calogero is nice looking fellow, he is working well and if not too green can run well. Demonte will need the experience.
SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 5 and 8 – JUST SONIC & MOON GAME : As is the norm with our babies, these two have not been pushed. They needed early gelding and this run will bring them on as they aren’t distance
suited but it is a starting point. Of course, you always hope you can bring home a cheque.

• DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Numbers 2 and 4 – SHADES OF BLU & INTERSTATE : Shades of Blu has good form over slightly further, but I do feel that even with the cut back in trip he will be competitive. Interstate has his first run after the gelding, it could be sharp for him.
• ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 3 and 5 – FORBIDDEN AFFAIR & BENGAL CRIMSON : Forbidden Affair can run an improved race back on turf. Bengal Crimson is showing better work than his form suggests and improvement
is expected.
JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 6 – WEST HEAD : Hoping he behaves behind the gates and loads, if so he does have a place chance.
GAVIN SMITH – Number 7 – BLUE DUCHESS : She is working well and will be thereabouts.
JUAN NEL – Number 8 – TERRA CREEK GIRL : She showed improvement in her last and I am hoping for further improvement here.
MONTANA TURNER – Number 1 – FAMOUS ORATOR : He is well but understandably could need it off a lengthy break. I am hoping he can still manage a first three finish as he is working well.

• GRANT PADDOCK – Number 2 – GIBRAL DE ROCHE : He has his first run for the yard and could need it.
• JACQUES STRYDOM – Numbers 8, 9, 10 and 11 – BELFAST CHILD, COIN MISTRESS, BILLI ANN & QUEEN NITOCRIS : The distance is what Belfast Child is looking for, but she is still immature. Coin Mistress seems to be losing her form, so just hoping she can turn it around. Billi Ann is holding form, will be much happier over this trip and can be competitive. Hoping that Queen Nitocris can bring her work to course as she shows much more at home.
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 1 and 5 – BRAVO CHARLIE & LAST KINGDOM : Bravo Charlie is expected to prefer the grass, he could place. Last Kingdom is expected to improve.
SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 6 and 7 – IDEAL DANCER & MARY LEE : Ideal Dancer showed good improvement in her last, the distance here should suit and she has a chance in an open field. Mary Lee ran out a decent local debut in her last, she should also enjoy the trip, possibly wanting even further and we have to hope she can repeat her last with the change of surface.

• ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 2 and 4 – MERYL & ONTENDERHOOKS : Meryl is holding form well and can follow up on a good win in her last. Ontenderhooks is never far off Meryl and is a definite danger.
• JACQUES STRYDOM – Numbers 3, 6 and 8 – FRIKKIE, ONESIE & OMAHA TRIBE : Frikkie is always trying but is at best on Poly. Onesie is holding form, will appreciate being back up in trip and will be competitive. Omaha Tribe could also prefer Poly.
GAVIN SMITH – Number 5 – EVOLVER : He enjoys the trip and could place.
SHARON KOTZEN – Number 7 – JUST MY STYLE : She is as honest as they
come and in very good form. She has a chance here.
RACE 5 :

• TARA LAING – Numbers 5 and 6 – PALACE QUEEN & BEYOND TEMTATION : Palace Queen was disappointing in her last run, but she will run a better race. Beyond Temtation ran a good second in her last, she will enjoy the distance and must have a good chance.
• JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 7 – ON THE SCENT : She ran very well on local debut in her last and has come on with that. She will enjoy the trip and will run well.
MONTANA TURNER – Number 9 – WORLD SQUARED : You can put a line through her last, things did not go her way in the running and she is expected to be competitive.
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 11 and 12 – DOUBLE SHUFFLE & TRAVETIRE : Double Shuffle will appreciate being back down the longer home straight. Travetire takes on stronger, perhaps a place chance.
SHARON KOTZEN – Number 1 – WYLIE’S FLAME : The obvious question is the surface with her stats being at best on Poly. We do believe she had excuses for her one bad run on grass over this type of trip and do feel she can be competitive.
ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 3, 8 and 10 – CALANDRA, KEEPER OF THE KEYS & ASCENDING HEIGHTS : Calandra is better than her last where she had complications in the running, she does try the trip. Keeper of the Keys takes on stronger, perhaps a place chance. Ascending Heights could also place, she is proven over the distance.
RACE 6 :

• ALAN GREEFF – Number 1 – AMERICAN LANDING : He will run well.
• JUAN NEL – Number 3 – EARTH HOUR : He has as much chance as any other in the race as they have all met and changed the form up on each other in races leading up to this.
TARA LAING – Number 4 – BOLD VIKING : He ran a good race in his last and must have a good chance.
GAVIN SMITH – Number 5 – PAPER TOWN : He is expected to improve, but could find the track a bit firm.
SHARON KOTZEN – Number 7 – DESERT CHIEF : He is in good form and even though up in class another good run is expected.
RACE 7 :

• ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 1, 2, 3 and 5 – CECCA, DELICASEA, ETERNAL HOPE & HERRIN : Cecca does have at tough task against winners. Delicasea hasn’t put a foot wrong yet, both runs and wins have been over 1000m, she tries the 1200m, but is certainly a runner. Eternal Hope is also in with a solid chance, she didn’t run well in Cape Town, but is a decent sort. Herrin is holding form, ran on well in her last and is not without chance at earning.
• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 7, 8 and 9 – SLOANE, STORYLAND & SUGAR GUM : Sloane is always thereabouts. Storyland’s maiden run and win was a good one over course and distance, she does though now take on
stronger. Sugar Gum won well over 1000m in her last, she must settle here.
MONTANA TURNER – Number 10 – SWEET SPRING : She has come on well again from her third run. She takes on winners again here as she did in her last, but does enjoy track and trip and another nice run is expected.
JUAN NEL – Number 6 – LETS ROCK : She takes on a smart field and I would be very happy were she to earn a minor stake cheque.
RACE 8 :

SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 1 and 7 – QUERARI VIKING & GOLD PACT : Querari Viking is down in class and drawn well. He has needed runs back from a lengthy break and a nice run is expected. Gold Pact found his last too far, this is much more his trip and improvement is expected.
• GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 5 and 14 – BORN A BULLY & SIR GEOFFREY : Born a Bully enjoys track and trip and is expected to improve. Sir Geoffrey ran well on debut for the yard in his last and should enjoy the long home straight of the turf.
• DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Numbers 9, 10 and 15 – TORIO LAKE, THOMAS TUCKER & SHERWOOD FOREST : All three are unfortunately drawn wide, but they are all in fair form and all have a shout at getting involved in the
action.
JUAN NEL – Number 11 – OCEAN MASTER : He had excuses for his last and I am hoping for improvement.
ALAN GREEFF – Number 2 – LEPRECHAUN : He has his post maiden run and is against stronger, may be a place chance.
TARA LAING – Number 3 – BEETHOVEN : He won his last well, we have previously tried him over 1400m and he has placed over it so we are expecting another good run.
JACQUES STRYDOM – Numbers 4, 12 and 16 – SAMAR, MYVIEW & JADEED : This will be sharp for Samar. Myview is back off a break and could need it. Jadeed must improve.
GRANT PADDOCK – Numbers 8 and 13 – ROCK THE COT & SAUVAGE : Rock the Cot is course and distance suited but the drawn is a concern. Sauvage is well in himself and has an each way chance.
