Is this a clever approach to improve racing?

I believe the Operator would obtain far more mileage by having
10 Maiden races with a R100k bonus per race
Far more betting and the money would be spread among more owners etc etc

......I don't disagree.....however this seems to be a "branding" exercise for the sponsor to be recognized as a major supporter of our local racing....if the sponsor spread the purse around the impetus would be totally lost before the "brand" (or deed) has been uniquely established.....

....talking about one hit wonders.....I wonder why G-Bets was not tapped to step up to the plate for the Summer Cup again.....a gr8 sponsorship that seemed to have been squandered by the sponsor not being able to follow through with the prospective betting customer they were trying to attract....:S
