Maybe the stakes too low now? Remember the days when he rode them to sleep, Willie Uys and Gavin Venter did their best but couldn't upstage him.

He rode a horse for the late Jean Heming at Newmarket many years ago over 1200m, think it was called Chatarulla or something. It was near last with 200m to go but Piere came flying through the pack with his blonde locks to win going away. Masterful ride by the legend.
