Race 1
Greg Ennion
No 1 Empire Glory is drawn 11-11 so has a tough task.
Candice Bass-Robinson
No 6 Born To Be Great : Improving and we hoping to find the money.
Eric Sands
No 7 Broadside is working well at home
No 10 Ronaldo could be green from the draw.
Glen Puller
No 8 Goluckygo is a speedy sort but will need the run.
Snaith Racing
No 9 Naughty Boy : Small place chance, should need first outing.
Vaughan Marshall
No 11 West Of Memphis is very green and could need another race.

Race 2

Glen Kotzen
No 2 Bindi : Very smart filly, if not too green can be a big runner.
Glen Puller
No 4 Floatlikeabutterfly : Nice filly, may be green.
Greg Ennion
No 5 Hot Love is having her second start. She is a nice filly but will
need much further.
Candice Bass-Robinson
No 6 Joy Maisha is a nice filly and expecting a nice first run out,
however she is drawn unfavourably.
No 11 Villita Rye : She should also run a fair race on debut but will
be suited to further.
Snaith Racing
No 7 On The Scent is a nice type. Good last gallop. Each-way chance.
Vaughan Marshall
No 9 Rumour has it needs further

Race 3

Candice Bass-Robinson
No 1 Nan : She will be suited to to this trip and is ready to win now
so we are expecting her to have a winning chance here.

relish the trip. Expecting big improvement. Include in Quartets.

Mike Robinson
No 1 Lunar Tunes is trying further and I am hoping for improvement.
Vaughan Marshall
No 4 White Lace has a good each-way chance.
Greg Ennion
No 7 Arion Express is a very nice filly. She is looking for further
but I am expecting a better run.

Race 5

Mike Robinson
No 2 Lady Abigail is nicely drawn and is distance suited.
Candice Bass-Robinson
No 5 Tattooed Rocker : She is very well at present and draws well
here. She could be a big factor again.

Race 6

Snaith Racing
No 1 Talitha Borealis : Big weight, may need the outing, each-way chance.
Candice Bass-Robinson
No 2 Intothelimelight : Doing well but 1600m might be a touch on the
far side for her.
No 3 Miss Plumcake : First run back after a lay-off, if she doesn't
need it too much she could have a small chance.
Mike Robinson
No 5 Secret Depths has been freshened up for this race and I think she
will go close.

Sunny day with a likely moderate tailwind. Pen is reported as 20 so going now good.
Race 1 Broadside and Golden Tractor are the two form horses and both still improving, but it looks more open than the betting suggests as there are a few first timers, and if Fighter is fit then he could win this at 14/1
Race 2 Impossible race as there is little decent form from the runners and a host of first timers in the betting.
Race 3 Not much between all of 1,2,3,7,8 on what they have shown to date. Flatware ran a very decent race from a wide draw last time and Mxothwa deservedly keeps the ride.
Race 4. White Lace has decent juvenile form and is the one to beat. The 4yo Lunar Tunes is the lurker.
Race 5.Honey Pie won well last time and if making further improvement is the one to beat. If she fails then this is wide open, but main dangers are Tattooed Rocker, Elusive Fortune and Duntoche.
Race 6 Sleeping Single won well last time and the winning margin could have been greater. She has been penalised as if that was a 3L win and not 1L. Secret Depths is fit and well and renews rivalry. I expect these two to fight it out again. Water Spirit went off form last time and has been rested, but if fit comes in on a handy weight, as does Midnight Moonlight.
Race 7 This looks a very open race. Skidoo loves this course and trip and with a paper weight looks good ew value at 12/1. Rio Querari comes back from a break but is capable. Bellingham Bay is in good form.
Race 8 The price on Hurricane Harry looks too skinny although he has obvious claims and is likely to improve with the better going. Backgammon has solid form. Nevil Mu good first run but poor in the wet last time and a tough draw. All of 2,5,7,11,12 have scope for improvement.

BORN TO BE GREAT (WIN)

40/1

Best run in Five starts, last race over the 1000m Kenilworth
Finished in 6th place 3.55lengths off the winner
Comment (some late progress)

Was a workriders race
The winner won by 1.75lengths
2nd and 3rd place was covered by 0.50lengths
In 3rd place was CAPTAIN GARETH who won his maiden really well on Saturday

Born to be great was only 1.75lengths off Captain Gareth and the race time, shows a faster run race than today's favorite(GOLDEN TRACTOR) 1000M second place run

BORN TO BE GREAT (RACE RUN-WIN TIME 63.14)
GOLDEN TRACTOR (RACE RUN-WIN TIME 64.33)

Also the heavy betting support on Born to be great last run FROM 33/1 TO 9/1

GETS A FURTHER 1.5KGS OFF TODAY

The Crawford yard is firing on all cylinders, think Golden Tractor will be hard to beat.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race 5 sees a strong Snaith hand and with jock arrangements one would expect Fourie to be the one, however, with him on the Fav in Race 6 and my form reading ideas, I am hoping my Fortunes won't be too Elusive with Cheyne and place cover.

Eric Sands seems to be one of the few SA trainers who are able to bring horses back fit from a break.
Broadside 22 weeks off and brought back in perfect condition.

Three first timers found support and the one who actually drifted from it's opening price wins easily.
2 Bindi # 2.20 2.45 2.55 3.25 3.30 3.50 4.00 4.25 4.65 4.85 4.75 4.50 4.25 4.00 3.75 4.00
wins

6 Joy Maisha # 7.00 8.00 10.00 7.00 6.75 5.50 5.00 4.35 4.50 4.65 3.30 3.45 3.00 2.85 2.75 2.60 2.75 3.00 3.30 3.45 4.00
missed the break and runs unplaced

9 Rumour Has It # 7.00 7.50 5.50 5.00 4.20 3.55 2.50 2.85 3.05 3.30 2.50 3.00 3.30 3.33 3.50 3.65 3.45 3.30
Would have run last if the last horse didn't lose 7 lengths at the start.
Cape trainers still seem to be battling to judge how good their lighties are.
