Fairview Friday
5 years 9 months ago
RACE 1
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 2 and 10 – HALLO ROSIE & SISTER LEE : Hallo Rosie is always trying and always has a quartet shout. Sister Lee enjoys 1000m but the wide draw is a concern.
SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 5 and 12 – KATASHA & OYSTER BAR : Put a line through Katasha’s last, she prefers the Poly and a better run in expected. Oyster Bar is right back to the 1000m, she is pacey and better is hoped for from her.
ALAN GREEFF – Number 8 – TUYUCA : She can run in the money.
RACE 2
TARA LAING – Number 1 – SPEECHMAKER : Trying the Poly and blinkers for the first time, we are hoping for improvement.
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 2, 5 and 9 – CABALLE, RUSSIAN LADY & HOLLYWOOD LADY : Caballe ran a very good race until she was interfered with in her last, hoping for a similar effort. Hoping for improvement from Russian Lady. Hollywood Lady is expected to improvement.
SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 3 and 8 – FEARLES FAIRY & GO ANNIE : Fearless Fairy likes the Poly, the 1300, will suit and she can run well. Go Annie will find this way too short and it is a starting point and education for her.
VAUGHAN MARSHALL – Number 4 – SIGMA ALPHA : I expect he’ll enjoy the 1300m on Poly and he has a place chance.
ALAN GREEFF – Number 6 – AMPLE GLORY : She has a winning chance.
RACE 3
ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 1, 4, 6 and 8 – ALPHABET STREET, SPIN MASTER, BERNARDO & LUCIO : Hoping for better from Alphabet Street and Spin Master. Bernardo has a winning chance. Lucio can place.
DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Number 2 – READY SET GO : She ran on very well late in her last and the extra here will suit.
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 3, 7 and 9 – LOVE TALK, DUET & MASTER NEWTON : Love Talk takes on the boys but she will be competitive and has an each way chance. Duet is up in class having his post maiden run. Master Newton is drawn well and expected to improve.
RACE 4
VAUGHAN MARSHALL – Number 1 – AT THE OFFICE : His Cape form is good and he will be hard to beat.
JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 5 – RED FOREST : Hoping for improvement.
GAVIN SMITH – Number 6 – FIRST KNIGHT : Although well accounted for in his last, he did place and in a small field he could do so again.
SHARON KOTZEN – Number 7 – RUSSIAN BEAUTY : She is trying further and we are hoping for improvement in a small field.
RACE 5
GRANT PADDOCK – Numbers 2 and 4 – SABASTIAN & AWAKENING : Sabastian has his peak run and has an each way chance. Awakening fell back in the running in his last and will run a better race, he is working well.
SHARON KOTZEN – Numbers 3, 6 and 7 – GREAT CRUSADE, FINLEY HILL & CRUISE CRUZ : Great Crusade ran a nice last despite traffic problems and another fair effort is expected. Finley Hill ran a nice post maiden, his confidence has always been an issue and he looks to have come on in that regard so a decent run is expected. The pace in the last did not suit Cruise Cruz. Ideally he needs 2200m, but he does like the Poly and can run a better race.
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 5 and 10 – WHITELEAF HILLS & CONQUERING KING : Whiteleaf Hills races in consistent form, he was just touched off in his last. Conquering King has his post maiden run, the draw is a concern.
MONTANA TURNER – Number 9 – GRAVITATION : He has been freshened up and is well, trying further I am hopeful of a good run.
DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Number 12 – SALUBRIOUS : She may prefer the mile but has fair recent form.
RACE 6
VAUGHAN MARSHALL – Number 1 – BLACKBEARD : He posted a good last win over 1800m and though it is a competitive field with a few to beat, he has come on from that win and he does have a big chance.
JACQUES STRYDOM – Numbers 2, 3 and 4 – MAHIR, OMAHA TRIBE & CAPE LEOPARD : Mahir is in fair form and has quartet claims. Omaha Tribe could place if bringing his best. Cape Leopard is also at best on the Poly and better is expected from him.
TARA LAING – Number 5 – OLLIVANDER : He is very well weighted, if he takes to the Poly he must have a good chance.
GAVIN SMITH – Number 6 – TOM ‘N JERRY : He ran a decent last race but does bump a competitive field.
RACE 7
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 1 and 7 – ALAMITO BAY & WILD MOVE : Alamito Bay enjoys the 1000m and should be thereabouts. Wild Move is expected to improve.
ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 3 and 5 – STOPTHINKINGOFME & TEOFILIA : Both horses have the ability to find the winners box. Stopthinkingofme has been a touch unlucky in the running of late and Teofilia may be up in class but he won his maiden well.
VAUGHAN MARSHALL – Number – MAGIC SAILOR : He loves the Poly and is back to best, he has a good each way shout.
JACQUES STRYDOM – Number 8 – ADIOS GRINGO : He has been disappointing and we are just hoping for better.
RACE 8
MONTANA TURNER – Number 1 – WINTER FIVE : She ran a great race from a bad draw on Monday. She pulled up very well and drawn much better here another competitive run is expected.
JACQUES STRYDOM – Numbers 2, 9 and 11 – STAR OF FAIRVIEW, TORAN’S GIRL & TREE OF LIFE : Star of Fairview has been disappointing and we are hoping for better . Toran’s Girl is up in class having her post maiden run. Tree of Life ran well in her last but could just need this racing off a break.
GAVIN SMITH – Numbers 3 and 10 – FLAME UP & VIVA LE BLEU : Flame Up has her post maiden run, a decent effort is expected but her draw is a concern. Viva le Bleu is drawn best of all and can improve.
SHARON KOTZEN – Number 4 – JUST AMAZING : She won her last well and though this is a step up in class a good run is expected, she does enjoy the 1200m.
ALAN GREEFF – Numbers 5, 6 and 8 – SEATTLE MERMAID, BLACK GARDENIA & LADYSMITH : Seattle Mermaid could find quartets. Black Gardenia ran a very competitive race in her last, the draw is a concern, but she a winning chance. Ladysmith is drawn even worse, if she gets some luck in the running she can get involved.
GRANT PADDOCK – Number 14 – INTHEPURPLERAIN : She has her first run back after her vaccinations and I am hoping she can run a race similar to her last.
DUNCAN MCKENZIE – Number 15 – PASHTOOSH : She ran on late in her last over the 1000m which was sharp for her and she was unlucky not to place so she will enjoy the extra furlong.

I got on Heart Stone @ 18/10 a place last night , I see she's at 5/1 a win now.
She was my fancy for a placing as she has a good draw and a good jock aboard.
