Scottsville Race 8

Before this race gets forgotten, I'd like to make a new topic dedicated to this race.

I hope that the stipes shall be opening an enquiry into this race and that they do not simply accept the common stuff. Results like these only serve to paint racing in a very negative light.

This horse had 7 starts and beaten by around 200m on aggregate across those starts. I am in absolute shock as to how this horse wins. I could accept it if it showed even a semblance of ability in ANY of its past runs but there was nothing at all.

Flabbergasted.

The worst part is the way it cruised in like a odds on shot.

Can't wait to see the next run, will same tactics be used over the same distance?????

b) Trainer M Roberts was questioned regarding the improved performance of MASTER OF FIRE (*J Gates) the winner, compared to this gelding’s previous performances. Mr Roberts attributed the improvement shown to having fitted this gelding with blinkers and having reverted to the shorter distance for today’s race. Mr Roberts has undertaken to race MASTER OF FIRE in blinkers and over similar distances in his future engagements. His explanation was noted and the Board will monitor MASTER OF FIRE’s future performances.

our stipes are either very weak or the rules they have at their disposal are not sufficient to handle these types of issues
