I see it as positive for racing during these difficult times and any financial injection must improve the current situation.
Durban is buzzing and cant wait to get there.........

THE BRIGHT FUTURE: GREYVILLE AND SCOTTSVILLE RACECOURSES
Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle are delighted to announce a ground-breaking R10m - 3 year naming rights sponsorship of Greyville and Scottsville Racecourses hereafter to be named the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse and Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse. Whilst stadium sponsorship has become commonplace in other forms of sport in South Africa, this represents the first deal of its kind in the South African Horseracing Industry.
Gold Circle is part of a multi-faceted and integrated industry, organising thoroughbred horseracing events throughout KwaZulu-Natal and is now partnering with Hollywoodbets which is South Africa’s most dynamic bookmaker, offering the widest range of betting markets on Horseracing, Soccer, Lucky Numbers, and all other Sporting codes.
Hollywoodbets is proud of the contribution it has made to horseracing over the past years through their trainer and work-rider sponsorships, and the number of horses that run in the Hollywood Syndicate colours.
The collaboration between Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle will encourage other bookmakers and corporate brands to get involved in sponsoring the Sport of horseracing.
Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle look forward to working together in ensuring that KZN continues to be the ultimate racing destination in South Africa. Together we welcome the world to Hollywoodbets Greyville for the 123rd running of the Vodacom Durban July on Saturday 6th July 2019.

LOL
Tucking fellytrack stops broadcast from Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse as soon as the announcement is made – no coverage of the post gallop panel discussion.
Are they going to boycott the broadcast of the July day racing from Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse as well?

If only there cud be a competitor to TELLYCRAP ...racing would be so much better.....the broadcast of Royal Ascot is the coverage that we need here..in depth and showing us the money movers...not the kak ad breaks of their new format that gets repeated!!!!

Is it an official name change with the NHA?
What’s to stop Phumelela calling all their tracks a different bookie ?
Out of all the soccer stadium that sold their rites there’s only two I can say I’ve used that name

TBF to TT the big meetings are not bad and a few tweaks could be cool
And the run of the mill stuff in the uk is boring to watch as well

Can someone explain to me how Gold Circle owns Track and Ball and Hollywood is by far the biggest fixed odds operator in KZN, but GC then give HW the naming rights to their racecourses.
That's like Man United allowing their ground to be renamed Man City Old Trafford.
Quite clear that Gold Circle believes that the Hollywood sponsorship is going to generate more revenue than their own fixed odds operation.

I say well done to both parties, forward thinking excellent! Why can't Phumelela do something like that?

great way to raise funds without selling off the assets... I wish this was the case before we had to bid farewell to KZN's best course by a county mile.......

Great idea I believe. Very hard to beat Hollywood's marketing etc. Owen and Dev are helluva nice and bright guys. Maybe The Hawk can elaborate more on the deal. Maybe the open bets with them now go through the tote and they take a cut? Love to see that.Who knows what has been sorted out. I find it sad that some are slating it before finding out what the whole story is.
