Louisg, some of us will only RUBBISH Racing when an injustice has been done.. In my case I WAS done in, they corrected their error & then proceeded to limit me cause " i'm one of regular WINNERS " which is not the case.. I told them over the phone - pull up my betting records with them over the last 3 - 4 years & SEE THE FULL PICTURE..... A LOOSER i would definitely be.
Louis i will try & open a TAB acc. on line - i hope its not too CUMBERSOME ! I hope i will be able to take small / tiny percentages when i want to.
What I don’t understand is how some people haven’t worked out the benefits that one can get with the open bet. I know Louis g and peter d also support the tote bet. I play the bigot bet sometimes around 3000 hoping to get it times, recently I won R94800 and the pool was just over 260000 , if I played it on the tote with my tickets it worked out to be just over 60 odd k that I would get back. I had a benefit of 30000 for this particular exotic. To attract more tote bets they need to give back like casinos, extra benefits.My bookmakers have deposit bonuses that I can get free money to play bets.Why can’t the tote compete.
Should I walk past my local cafe and go to the expensive 7/11 because they are nice. The customer wants what is best for their pockets.
What Elvis has raised when applied to you would mean that when you won 94k from 3k, is that if you were limited to R200 then you would have won R6380. However on the tote you would have still won R60 000 which is a R54 000 swing in your favour as opposed to the 30k which you believe was your value.
I'll state it again, every racing jurisdiction that is thriving does not have bookmakers operating.
guys u missing the point what Elvis and especially myself were trying to point out was that WSB start restricting yr bets or even potentially close yr account when u start taking from them.Like i said in 2017 i won abt R 30k from them they starting restricting my bets to R 50 perms which is pathetic.Bet with the best wow what a slogan.
Not missing the point at all, I am yet to hear of any bookmaker that does not limit winners who do not lose their boots to them.
Quite simple really, the Tote doesn't limit anyone, win, lose or draw.
Punters want to cheer about the open bet until they are limited then its not so nice. You have to deal with the dragon you feed. Bookmakers do not pay for the events they offer betting on, no different to any IP abuse when you don't pay for it.
tigershark, I would prefer in S.A. if we only had the TOTE.... ( as they do in HONG KONG )............. but we know this won't happen......bucket shops would open - LEFT, RIGHT & CENTRE - ( then our TAXMAN COLLECTS NIL )
Would the TOTE be able to offer a YANKEE or CANADIAN bet ? I think not !

Bookie sites operate 24 x 7 ... try taking a bet on Tabgold before heading off to the office..... not ever gonna happen. Oz racing in the morning...try taking a bet...'sorry, system unavailable'. I have money in my Tabgold a/c which I battle to spend.
