"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Thursday 31 July Workings.

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows:

The 1st runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.82 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and way beyond under good support (went odds on), we had a lay at 2.7 max. The lay had to work hard, but got the win, so gamble landed and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.5, but a non runner and 8.5% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 3.29 (3.3 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 3.6 on arrival and then dropped down to us and beyond, so we had a lay at 3.3 max. The lay was beaten after a very tight finish, so a strain on the heart, but a good result.......

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.9 on arrival and although tumbling down the price still never came anywhere near our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.......

The 4th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 7.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.14 (3.15 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 3.25 on arrival and then dropped down to us and slightly beyond, so we had a lay at 3.15 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result.....

The 5th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.75 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The price then drifted back out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, so a chance for traders and remaining builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.......

The 6th runner we wanted 1.6, but a non runner and 9% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 1.55. The price had drifted to around 1.57 on arrival and only got bigger, so race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so glad of the drift now and a good leave.......

The 7th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 3.95 on arrival and not coming down to us, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'....

The 8th runner we wanted 3.0, and with being a well supported 2.5 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....

The 9th runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and 4.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.53. There was then another non runner and 26.1% which meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.13. The price was around 2.02 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at 2.02 max. The lay was beaten after a battle, so a good result.......

The 10th runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner and 5.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.01 (3.0 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 3.45 on arrival and only getting bigger, no strategy play left and only a bit of trading on offer, I'm leaving it there to finalise this evening's workings. Good luck trading these remaining pair.

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED..................(3 from the first 6 (50%) went and won - 4 from the first 8 (50%) went and won - So tough yet again for us, but we dealt with it well enough, so well played/battled)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 0.6 of a target...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a bit of a battle, they ended up winning 0.6 of a target after their 5th lay (the 8th runner). That's where they ended it with not enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target.

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.7 max, but a poor result see them go behind early........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 3.3 max, and a good result see them win a chunk back...........Then came their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 3.15 max, and a good result see them break level. 4 runner builders stop here, as now levels and no room at all for error going to the last........

5 runner builders played on and had a 'free' lay (the 5th runner) that bought a tiny profit.........They then had their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 2.5 max, but a poor result see them go behind.......They then had their 5th and final lay (the 9th runner) at 2.02 max, and a good result see them back level, so they end there at levels...

Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.7 max. Result negative. Lose £100

Total bank now £300

2nd lay £100 to recoup as much of the £100 @ 3.3 max. Result positive. Win £43

Total bank now £343

3rd lay £171 to recoup the £57 @ 3.15. Result positive. Win £57

Total bank now £400.

So with being levels with only one potential lay left, it's always advised to take the levels with now no room at all for error.

Overall result. Level.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

Total bank now £355

3rd lay £118 to recoup the £45 @ 3.15 max. Result positive. Win £45

Total bank now £400

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £20

Total bank now £420

4th lay £210 to win the £80 needed @ 2.5 max. Result negative. Lose £120

Total bank now £300

5th lay £300 to recoup the £100 @ 2.02 max. Result positive. Win £100

Total bank now £400

Overall result. Level.

'Traders' have won, or broke level on all their trades thus far, so well played guys and good luck with the remainder..

So builders end level after a battle, but rollers win just over half a target and that's a decent effort with too many winners again. Speak soon with this evening's session......

That's our work for this afternoon then. A mixture of races and make ups, but although always looking tricky and testing at least, we still have enough about us to warrant taking our satchels along, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
