He should have tackled Mr de kock on calling the theatre of dreams a go kart track seeing that the result of the fillies guineas saw the first two horses come from very wide draws.

Many people would agree with him calling it a go-cart track - since they have narrowed the straight it has become very tough to win from wide draws - yes I know it does happen, but would argue that is the exception; very much depends on prevailing weather conditions and the state of the track; imo the only way to win from a wide draw this past Friday evening, was to take the gamble and chase your horse up early hoping for a mediocre early pace - would be interesting to see the fractions.

On that topic, Simons was heavily criticized for his ride on Soqrat - I wonder what the instructions were - granted he is not in the same class as Delpech, but I wonder what Delpech would have done - ride to instructions or say 'bugger this, I know I need to be handy to have chance'

Always easy afterwards, but both Twist of Fate and National Park would have been tough nuts to crack even were Soqrat drawn better, so when he drew wide I think Mr de Kock regretted not having a go at the Gr 1 Champion Challenge instead - where a second place would have earned the connections almost double than the winning cheque of the Gr 2 KZN Guineas

Hi Frodo. I don’t think the sheik cares for cheques, only trophies.

MDK obvisouly has issues with KZN tracks. he no longer races there. think he has 5 runner there all season.
i reckon a better jock would have got more out of SOQRAT. I know better than to have a bet on a Simons ridden horse but i got greedy on friday night. annoying never got a blow in.
