It looks like Anton Marcus has been stood down in Grenville, the normal rule is that they can’t ride the next day, although in the past it doesn’t apply for him.

Race 6 - Magical Wonderland 22/10

Given a very soft run last time where she had an impossible weight to shoulder. She only finished 6 lengths off the leader so it wasn't too bad a pipe opener. Should be much fitter tomorrow and she is a high-class sprinter as we know. Her main asset is her lovely turn of foot so I'm hoping they go very fast upfront and her turn of foot should come into play late on and she can pick them off.

As an aside, Nous Voila has always been highly rated by the stable and looks like sprinting is her forte. Very impressive last win and we'll see if she can win as well at this higher level.

Green Point Stakes - Rainbow Bridge 16/10

Where to start with this beauty of a horse? First took notice of him when he won the Winter Guineas on his 2nd start from a wide draw - how many horses have done that? Then thought he was a bit sluggish in his Winter Classic win - but he never dropped the bit in that race and I think they learned not to ride him from the front. Ride the race to your strengths and his biggest strength is the way he picks up and glides past them - extremely smooth and electric. He needs to switch off and come from the back.

Then came the Matchem - I fancied him even with the wide draw and layoff and even then he still surprised me. Another wide draw, short straight and it was no problem at all - he floated past them. Last time in the Cape Mile, I admit I was worried when he sweated up so badly and drifted terribly off the boards - then we saw Bernard sitting on him effortlessly when he entered the straight - once again he floated past Silver Maple to remain unbeaten. I shouldn't have worried....

At the end of the day, Rainbow Bridge has only won 3 Grade 3's. He has never taken on a horse as good as Undercover Agent who's won a Gold Challenge - let's not even talk about one of the best milers to ever race in the country in Legal Eagle - who has the amazing record of 9 from 9 over the mile. I read this week that Eric Sands said he didn't know if he was good enough and if he got beat, he'd accept it and move on and I must agree - myself I don't know for sure how good he is or if he is good enough to beat the champ - but this horse excites me like only a few horses can and I have a feeling he's special.

Race 9 - Hudoo Magic 22/10

Very progressive colt. Ran a good one behind Silver Maple who's gone on to run second to Rainbow Bridge and then win again this week. Won a good race last time with a heavy weight even though he tired badly at the end. Should be better suited to this long straight now and hopefully Orffer rides him with a bit more restraint this time and not hit the front too early. Was also guineas-entered so he must be rated by the stable. With natural progression and a good ride, he should be able to defy the penalty to pull this off.

Also, we see the return of Snowdance who's back home and should return to winning ways at the course she loves best.

I honestly cannot see anything in this field giving Legal Eagle a go. Captain America will be missed, the Eagle will doddle this field!

Open race to start the day and whilst Fateful looks the pick of the ones that have run Candolim from the Puller yard is one worth keeping an eye on

Agree 100%. The 8's might be gone, but still think it's a big price....

If money is a guide, then Chakri is past the post already and should be an anchor in all multiples.
