Nothing wrong with punting your horse but to stick the man in the street away is pish( at best )

Bob...there are FEW trainers that inform the punting public truthfully!

Agree with you Bob . This happened a couple of weeks back as well. Rather dont post a comment . It's why this game is losing players fast. Next we will hear it wasn't there money. Stinks.

Azzie a long time offender in this regard.

I am all for owners getting on and having first bite. I'm not for middling punters.

There's a difference

Wasn't meaning you Bob . The trainer could just say no comment as many others do. Or maybe even " the horse can win but might be green or need it,"

Monday at Flamingo
Tobie Spies
No 3 All Of Me - Takes on the males. Small chance of earning a cheque.
Wins and backed from 3.7-1 into 2-1 at one stage.
There is a few that give the rest a bad name. But we have learnt who to trust and who not to.

Spies comments Van Halen
2 VAN HALEN T Spies: Working well but will need it(from Phum via Sporting post)
Tobie Spies
No 2 Van Halen. I am hoping he can win.(as posted on ABC)

I presume both comments emanated from from Phum(publishing or Teletrack) so which comment should the punter use?

Seldom in comments do you see the word WIN which is VERY positive while "will need it" and "working well" are almost auto -fill ..

I wonder why these comments are made?

Are they deliberately misleading or just being cautious?

No 4 Winter Watch injured her knee but is fit and well. May need the run
Roy Magner
No 1 State Trooper : Injured cannon bone

There is value in proper honest comments - I left both these out because of the comments re injury and if either got up I would have accepted that the injuries were overcome -
I wish sometimes a trainer would say"can't win bad horse" or like Mr Magner tell us when a horse has been ill
