I agree that Prince Florimund had Wolf Power’s measure in general, but many of those races were over 1800+. I think that at 1600 only, Wolf Power had his measure (as much as I loved Prince Florimund)

all the more reason to get sectional times.Even if horses never ran against each other we will have a clue more or less with these. Taking just winning times are pointless indeed

Would be interesting to know who holds the record for the fastest time over the distance in a Grade1, how would that be pointless other than the brutal fact?

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Intresting that the course record holders for Turffontein - Celtic Grove (49.5kg) 95.44s (2000.09.16) and : Inside Course NATIONAL SPIRIT (58kg) 94.38s (2005.02.12) don't appear in anyone's selections(mine included) and they have held those records for a good few years including the era of Legal Eagle
