"The Twi-Night Handicap Series"

OK guys here goes.
What about a 'Handicap Series' over say 12 weeks once the lights are up on the straight @Tuffies?
My idea is to have 7 Races p/night over:
2850m - 2450m - 2000m - 1600m - 1400m - 1160m - 1000m
Starting at 5.30pm at 30mins intervals until 8.30pm. As Mac said the earlier races can be over the farther distances, so no lights will be needed - hench only lights up the main straight and thereby save the initial cost of lights.
Imo, it will be a good way of 'launching' the late racing concept, and create a 'buzz' due to the nature of the 'series'.
There would be 10 Heats - where the winners would get automatic entry to the 'Final' plus another 5-6 'highest points'
In addition, week 11 would be a 'consolutation' night.
Week 12 would be a 'FINALS' night - with (hopefully) all the hoopla that it should entail.
As far as the 'Stakes' they would be decent say:
R90k 'Heats' & 'Consolation' with 150k each 'Final'
I have been toying with this for a few weeks and things like 'Trainer of Series' etc would also be up for grabs.
I reckon all can be achieved for R8bar.
What say the Clan?

It would be on a points system:
10pts win - 6pts 2nd - 4pts 3rd - 2pts 4th + 1pt - 5th.
As I say the winners would automatically go into the final although they would still be able to try and 'win' / qualify for another distance (i.e. win 1000m - then try 1160m).
Should a Horse qly for 2 finals they would choose which one to enter.
I really think it could generate a lot of 'heat' - bus some students in (p/Scotia's idea), Dbl JWB's for price of a single. 241 food etc.
Before you know it, it could be the place to be on a thursday? night - lol!
Thanks for your positive response Oscar - I could be in SA pretty soon depending how my gee-gees go.
Cheers, Jim.
