SECTIONAL BLAH BLAH BLAH TIMES...
7 years 4 months ago
Some time back I use to be a front-runner on here bitching on and on and on abt sectional. Until 1 day that's seems so long ago now...ITS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.Not in our lifetime atleast. As let's face it,our industry is run by Cnuts who only look after their best interests. FCUK THE PUNTERS!!!! I used Computaform back in the day and hailed it as the BEST form guide ever....Why??? Coz it has '400F sectionalss' in also shows where the horses was during the race. I studied, analized and literally slept on hundreds of computaform. I conquered SA RACING...I compared myself against tipsters on here for 3 straight months...against any tipster I could get my hands on.I even subscribe to a few to measure myself. I than came to the conclusion that I'm GOOD at what I do,but as racing is...1 can learn any day from ANYBODY ...IF YOU ALLOW yourself to be such. LIKING the challenge 'of the hunt' of finding winners I was constantly looking for even better challenges. In the past I did Mau,Mey,UK racing and i did fairly well aswell. Somewhere along the line i got to thinking...' I might be a GREAT' horseracing analyst. ...to be honest,i sometimes still THINK that, lol. FAST GORWARD a few months....i now KNOW FOR A FACT that I'm only a good tipster/analyst/punter. HONG KONG RACING has shown me there is SO MUCH that I don't understand abt racing and SO SO MUCH I am yet to learn.
SECTIONAL TIMES????? Y'all want it so badly??? HKJC.COM !!!! THE BEST FORM GUIDE IN THE WORLD ...that's what that site is....HKJC.COM!!!!! SECTIONAL TIMING/BARRIER TRIALS/HORSE WEIGHT/FULL UP TO DATE VET REPORTS/5 DIFFRENT REPLAYS FOR EVERY RACE/ ect ect....you name it....it's there!!!! ST's is not as straightforward as I once thought it was. Just becoz the horse ran fastest home, doesn't mean he will win next time out. So anyone who thinks like I use to do,or anyone who seeks a REAL CHALLENGE...Than HK racing and that website is for you. It might take sim Time to get use to but its very easy to understand.Negatives are pools are on the small side and its only twice a week but if you get to know it as well as you do SA RACING you can make your months profits in a day.I can also assist in helping anyone with the website or anything but its very easy and straightforward.
No more 'bitching' now please...lol

You could change your title to any appropriate heading that links into the administration of SA racing and it would still be applicable. The sad reality is that all spheres of our racing are "run" by individuals who never put the horse or punter anywhere near the front of the queue.

I have never understood why GC invested in a GPS based system as these cannot be accurate to the meter and when looking at time splits you would have to be accurate to at least 20cm.
I am not IT savvy but surely with HD camera's there are multiple ways in which to get sectional times, i.e. every 200m just as a start?
The sectionals and speed of the track on the day/pen reading are important to draw a conclusion of the speed the race was run at and the horses 400 to finish times for obvious reasons. I was really pissed off when Pirates highlighted just how inconsistent and incorrect ComputaForms 400 to finish times had become and yet there has been no improvement for over a year now.
This means that there really is no accurate measurement of race times in SA at the moment, i.e. if ComputaForm is the official race card and the 400 to finish times are incorrect then how can the race times be correct?

ON TIMEFORM's website is a 60+ page leaflet on sectional timing. It's a very very good read and it will enrichen your knowledge abt how races tend to be run....also gives clues that weights and length differences don't mean as much as we previously thought or what the 'form studiers' makes it out to be. Happy reading peoples

Sectional Timing – Weeks Away!
Technical issues ironed out
Updated 19th January 2018
There finally looks to be some light on the Sectional Timing horizon for South African horseracing.
Earlier this week we reported on a black day for the innovation when testing was halted at Fairview on Monday after devices had become dislodged from horses.
We were subsequently contacted by David Gregory, International Business Director of Equimotion Technologies, who is apparently supplying the Sectional Timing system to Phumelela. Their slogan, ‘where timing is everything’, may appear to be slightly ironic, given the long drawn out process that has been the promise of Sectional Timing.
Mr Gregory informs us that he hopes ‘in February’ to be up and running at all six Phumelela racetracks.
“There have been some technical issues over the past few weeks, both on and off the track, which we have now addressed and we will be all systems go in February. I would like to thank the operator Phumelela and the RA for their patience during the testing period of product installation. So it is all systems go to supply the racing industry with fantastic data very soon,” he said.
The Equimotion Technologies website is said to be launching soon. The company’s Facebook page last saw activity in September 2015.
