What are the implications of the latest developments in the industry to grooms, feed, transport, auctions, vets, trainers, breeding, stakes etc?

This will be massive Oscar. There is no way that all Joostes stock will be accommodated and this will affect all players in the game.

perhaps some of his lesser fancied horses are going to go at " cheap prices " they can't expect TOP DOLLAR for all his horses........ there just aren't the buyers

who says the current king is dead?he could be using someone else to purchase his star horses.he still has millions hidden and he has friends who have 'clean' names and reputations who could buy star horses and race them while he pays them to keep the whole thing silent and out of the media spotlight.just a thought and not impossible.lol

all the horses will still be around, just with new owners and more realistic prices, maybe i will even find myself getting back into a horse again.

he s dead dead dead - he has such a strong spotlight on him now that he cannot do things under the radar and his EGO(He raced horses in partnership but more often than not in his Mayfair silks not those of his partners) dictates that he wants recognition for "his" achievements - Why on earth would a man driven by ego want to race horses under the lap? I think he's got bigger problems than wanting to own horses - He may find keeping the young Polo Player, his wife, SARs the Germans and all other creditors happy will eat his rapidly dwindling fortune away.... And the cost of keeping horses will soon equal the cost of Attorneys and Advocates --- and let's not forget about the Extra bodyguards he should consider hiring

Its the best thing that can happen for the industry as no dictatorships or monopolies are good for any industry and going forward this whole saga must never ever be allowed to happen again...

People like the Ruperts,Slacks, Shirtliff ,Gerber, adams etc

Need to step up and give guidance to the officials.

Cape Racing in particular have a high percentage of Jooste runners and partnerships. and filed are already only 6 runners.

CTS will not survive AS Turnover was artificially high and will plunge without Jooste buying horses.

i would worry about the restricted races for CTS still going ahead.

TBA will need to step in.

Steinhoff and steinhoff related businesses who sponsored race days will no doubt pull out so Marketing need to find new blood for those events.

they should do away with restricted features and rather take that money and make a few restricted sales Maiden races j- that will help to bring in smaller owners who will get a chance to recoup prices in inflated stakes maiden races
