"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Saturday 28 June Workings.

Afternoon,

This afternoon completed and went as follows..

The 1st runner we wanted 3.1 and with being around 3.25 on arrival and then dropping down to us way beyond under good support, we had a lay at 3.1 max. The lay virtually made all to win well, so made us look stupid to be honest and the way it goes........

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and 8.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.47. The price was around 2.6 on arrival and only got bigger, so with not seeing our lay price at any stage we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.....

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.8 and with being around 2.92 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.8 max. The price then drifted back out to our own price of 3.1 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won, so yet another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Glad of the 'free' lay now though.....

The 4th runner we wanted 3.0 and with being around 2.8 on arrival we had a lay at 2.8. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, so another chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade looked to be another favourite winner, but got nailed late on and so a bit of relief and a good result........

The 5th runner we wanted 1.7 and with being around 1.82 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 1.7. The lay was beaten after a close finish, so more heart failure, but a good result.........

The 6th runner we wanted 2.32 and with being around 2.06 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.06 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result........

The 7th runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.15. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.45 and slightly beyond, so a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes, but glad of the 'free' lay now........

The 8th runner we wanted 1.6 and with being 1.7 on arrival and then dropping down to us late on, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 1.6. The lay went and won, so the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 9th runner we wanted 3.1 and with drifting to around 4.0 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, race to racers had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten by the eventual favourite, so the race beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though.........

The 10th and final runner we wanted 2.1 and with being around 2.82 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave......

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.........3 from the first 3 (100%) went and won - 5 from the first 8 (62.5%) went and won - and 6 from the 10 (60%) in total, and so yet another tough session and we did well to get the money, or break level)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede a tiny 0.26 of a target at the very very worst............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and after an early battle they ended up breaking level on their 4th lay (the 5th runner) and so with being levels, one potential lay left and no room at all for error, it's policy to take the levels and walk............They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 6th runner and after a cracking start, they then had the misfortune of opposing 2 winners when only needing a little to hit, so in the end they ended on their 3rd lay (8th runner) conceding a tiny 0.26 of a target...

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 3.1 max, but a poor result see them go behind early...........They then had a 'free' lay (the 3rd runner) that only bought relief...........Then another 'free' lay (the 4th runner) bought a tiny profit...........They then had their 2nd lay (the 5th runner) at 1.7 and a good result see them back level............They then had their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.06 max and a good result see them hit their targets...

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 1st runner at 3.1 max, but all others see them win a bit or break level, so all in all they finish around levels and that's a decent effort with all those winners...

So a tough session (yet again) and builders played it very well to get the wages, so well played guys. Rollers had to battle to a draw early on which was a decent effort and then although a bit unfortunate to nearly hit and then concede a tiny bit (at the very worst), they still feel pleased with getting away around levels with all those winners. Good luck this evening if you go into battle...

All the races were priced up with non runners taken into account up until 10.22am.

That's what we have to work around for this afternoon's session then. Again it's looking tough out there, but we do have enough about us to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. The races are a little close together at times, so we could get a clash or two, but we'll just take each race as it comes and if we have to miss any, then so be it. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
