Imvho...saddened that joe public has once again lost millions....saddened that our once top class accounting fraternity is now doubted throughout the world......the silence from the racing world insiders is deafening.....sad indeed......

The auditing profession has long been in trouble because you are issuing the report to the person who / company that pays you...and there is no client that cannot find some-one willing to issue a "clean" / unqualified report for the right price - dodgy stuff hidden in the diesel figures of transport entities, the materials figures of construction entities, etc - each sector has its line items in which things can be hidden to look reasonable.

Auditing works on materiality and things below calculated materiality are oftentimes tolerated / accepted as reasonable when qualitative aspects may be questionable - the auditor should probe further but margins on audits are being squeezed so time spent on further audit work is reduced and unqualified reports issued to stay onside with clients so that more money can potentially be made on advisory services

Nothing is said in mitigation of the numerous lapses that are coming to the fore - making it known for perspective to be placed on where the auditing profession is...

This is serious....the race could be in jeopardy if the masses march into Kenilworth Racecourse.A PR spin wizard will not help also because the SA way is totally opposite the ZIm way in getting things attended to.......

Lets hope ownership of the horses changes hands quickly.......

I think they must come. The sooner we cut all the cancer out of our sport the better. So fuck the met. Boycott the lot. Have no doubt that the treatment of David Safi is along the same lines of bullying. I say fuck them all. Anyone in racing now needs to demonstrate where they stand. Jockeys should boycott these horses. Trainers should send them all back to klavervlei. All of them the bloody lot. Bookmakers should refuse to price up a race where these horses run. 1 week of this along with a punters boycott of the tote and our sport can then rebuild.

Antepost betting in any market where these horses feature should be suspended.

And the rest of us. Those who care need to them step up and support those that take the stance above. It’s now time to take sides.
