Do SA Racecourses Have Free Wi-Fi?

I haven't been racing at the course for ages,but I was wondering how many of our racecourses have free wi-fi?

A friend attended the Fillies Guineas meeting @ Kenilworth and said there wasn't a cat and a dog there.

The last time I went racing I found accessing info very cumbersome,and if PGE truly want to attract the next generation then surely wi-fi availability on the course is of paramount importance!

Nope. No public wi-fi on course. I have enquired so that I could do my live photo’s. Can’t talk for KZN. (But I have seen a poster saying free wi-fi off course)

.....been discussed here before.....doubt if anything has been done about it though....Betting World took the initiative to have free Wi Fi in some branches .......but been to a few that did not have it yet....but I digress.....they should make a plan at Turffies.....because I have been on the odd occasion and could not even get a 3G signal to bet and check online race cards.....landed up having to buy a card and draw money to bet at the tote terminals.... :S

I also think that if they give us free wi-fi we may abuse the privilege of playing with open-bet bookies???

Have taken this up on a few occasions and should be a must, but signal poor even using the service providers

Kenilworth does have free wifi. you have to ask for the password. I use wifi when I am on course. One of the waiters will get it for you.

It's no wonder racecourses are dead then,a generation not brought up with wi-fi says we should have it.

My kid is 16,so in 2 years he's eligible to punt.

He only knows of a world with the internet and wi-fi,been using it since he was 3 years old.How would you ever get him to understand how there's no wi-fi if I take him racing to bet?

.....even the older generation embrace the technology provided by the advances internet has provided....have not purchased a hard copy race card for many years, except for the emergency of having no internet at the race course and once or twice at the sales.....I am reluctant to go racing without the guarantee of untroubled internet access..... :blush:

My world comes to a halt when there is no wifi. cannot do anything without wifi.

To compensate i recently took out a 20 gig Vodacom Mobile packaging for R299.00 per month to be used when I am on the road.
