Last Man Standing Competition (Buy-In)
7 years 9 months ago
Anyone interested in a three legged last man standing competition over three meetings culminating in the Summer Cup? I am open to suggestions as to which two other meetings to include.
Buy in R250..... WINNER TAKE ALL. No positive balances after the last meeting, pool rolls over to the Cape Summer Season.

Great idea, in too.
I would suggest Turffontein this Saturday and Kenilworth the 18th November but not sure if this Saturday is too little notice.

Not a good idea and here is my reasoning
1. If people dont show a profit after day 1 the comp loses its impetus, as the people who go out could make a come back in the 2nd or 3rd meeting.
2. Paying 250 and going out on the first day is not anyones kind of fun (the comps are fun and the views show it during the day)
3. The last time you did this only a few people were left in the comp on the final meeting.
4. Make it exciting for all right up until the last race of the last meeting.
5. Have it as you suggested over the three meetings but make The Speculator work hard for his money by having all entrants having a chance over the three meetings.

there were people that found 25-1 winners in the second or third days if i recall - there was no way after the first day or even second that you could decide to give up - you don't go out after the first or second meetings even if you are minus - i remember being positive and in the first 5 for the first 2 days and people with huge negative balances came through as they found huge priced winners

When will you need to pay the entrance fee by ? The reason I ask that its at short notice and its R250 per player. I only anticipated a competition at the end of the month.

So is there confirmation of starting date? Excuse me if I’m dumb. Does it start this weekend, and by default R250 must be paid by tomorrow?
