Looking forward to tomorrow to see how she goes.

If we had barrier trials in CT we wouldn't have to guess as to her ability :woohoo: :silly:

Hopefully we'll hear from our barrier trialist Peter D :cheer:

Princess Vicky had a gallop at Kenilworth two weeks ago- 1200m down the straight. The stable galloped 6 horses that day, and took the trouble to alert the media as Gold Standard was one of those galloping. You can read Robyn Louw's article in last week's Sporting Post. Apart from the connections, only Robyn and Ken Nichol pitched up at 7am to watch.
No times were taken, and she worked with another unraced filly whose name I have forgotten.
She worked nicely enough, and Richard Fourie gave a thumbs up that she won't die a maiden.
From the grandstand, I was happy with the gallop, but not wildly impressed.
Unfortunately, we have to accept prior to getting draws, and she has drawn out wide around the bend at Durbanville.
As we saw on Wednesday, the draw cost my runner, Hundreds, a winning chance in his race.
From that draw, with a first time baby, will probably have to drop her in behind and try to run on. Hard to see her winning from that draw.
I'm in favour of barrier trials, but in CT we can't even get sufficient access to the track for grass gallops, let alone space for trials.
