Very entertaining & interesting to see Pierce Brosnan (later James Bond)in it! I guess it recounts the Barney Curley 'Red Sam' coup of the mid 70's.
Back in those days movies & TV had an agreement(?) that no dodgy act could end up with the perpetrator 'getting away with it'. Hence, I guess, the verdict handed down at the end of the movie.
