Race 6 - Ngaga 3/1
Even though she got beat on her comeback, I was still happy with her effort. I am expecting her to come on a ton from that and we will see if she's up to this class. Look, she's badly out at the weights here and she's taking on tough older fillies on just her 5th start. Goodtime Gal and A time to dream especially are top fillies. This will be very difficult. But I have confidence in her. I think she's good, I'm sure Nel wouldn't run her here if he didn't think so. I think the Oaks race would have been the easier route - IMO she's looking for 2000 now. So while I have doubts about the 1600 and the strength of the race, at 3/1 I think she's worth a bet. I certainly give her more than a 25% winning chance.
Hoping GvN sticks to the outside this time. She's a big girl and needs space to unwind. Interesting to see how she goes.
some nice other features on the card and will be interesting to watch. Hoping African Night Sky can pull the triple crown off

Race 1: Workriders so tread carefully. Duchess of Prussia is preferred to I am Captain.
Race 2: What price Cossack Guard and Border Control to deadheat for 2nd place?!? Palo Alto fair debut and with normal improvement and the step up in trip is ew value at 7/1.
Race 3: Very tight contest. Little between Platinum Prince and Plano, the latter seems to have more scope for improvement. Cape Laddie and Waiting for Rain will be right there.
Race 4: We were very pleasantly surprised by Elusive Heart's sparkling debut. She has come on from that and if not green around the turn can win this. Rose in Bloom has good form and should also get the trip on breeding, and is the one to beat. Too Phat to Fly must be respected. Most of the field are going around the bend for the first time and there are quite a few which could improve enough to win.
Race 5: Speedpoint has the best form and there is enough stamina on the dam side to suggest he will stay. I make him a good value bet at 5/1. Silver Coin and Tap o Noth both won on debut and top the betting boards but little value in their prices. Supreme Orator and Zodiac Jack have decent form.
Race 6: Goodtime Gal is the class horse in the race, and looks very good value at 7/1 if not needing the run. A Time to Dream has a wide draw and also comes off a 4 month break but can challenge on best form. Impala Lily must be respected. Ngaga has been priced up favourite and was a narrow loser last time- she should strip fitter here and has plenty scope for improvement.
We have Silvan Star running - she is out at the weights but is still improving and she has a decent ew chance, but the opening price of 7/2 is too short. Note that Richard Fourie is contracted to ride for us, and did not specifically choose her over GTG.
Race 7: Seattle Gold and Whose that Girl have the best form, but are trying the trip for the first time. If they stay they will fight it out.
Race 8: African Night Sky goes for the Triple Crown and is a worthy favourite- he should get the trip on breeding. Newlands showed good improvement last time and ran a fair race in the Derby. He is also bred for the trip. Our Mate Art is also in with a shout if he stays. Loadshedder and Olivander should be included in quartets. We have Desert Wisdom running, but he is too far out at the weights to be a factor.
Race 9: A very competitive race.- go wide.

Whose That Girl is well in here and has competed against some really smart sorts, should be very difficult to beat.
Despite the drift, Plano should go close.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
